Partial rewiring of house

What can I say. I paid Eric and his team to, among other things, remove and replace knob and tube wiring. And I initially thought these guys were great. Nice to deal with, well priced. Months later (after I had paid them, and paid others to patch and paint over the holes) I discovered that they left the knob and tube from the switches to the light fixtures. When I contacted George (who acts a manager) he was surprised and said he would look into it and get back to me. Then they disappeared. I gave them every opportunity to provide an explanation, leaving several (polite) messages for both George and Eric over a period of more than a month. They never called me back or responded to any of my messages. I now have to pay someone else to finish their work (not to mention re patch and paint). It would have been one thing if they had consulted with me and we had agreed on their approach. But they represented complete removal of knob and tube and then did a partial job (and then disappeared.) Stay away.

complete kitchen rewiring

Having used GTM on a number of other electrical projects throughout our house, we are more than pleased to have had GTM come back to completely rewire our kitchen, which we have gutted and are remodeling. Not only are they fixing up all of the funky old wiring (our house is old, so there are generations of electrical jobs hidden behind the wall)but they made smart suggestions that we would not have thought of, like installing a switch in the kitchen in case we want to do under cabinet lighting in the future, something we hadn't thought of. As usual, they are punctual, polite, good natured, easy to talk to, and in general do a great job that we can feel confident about while they are doing it, and completely satisfied with after they are done! Recommended without reservation!

Living room wiring update (very old house)

GTM Electric is one of those rare contractors/trades (in my opinion) that gives you a quote and sticks by it, what they say it will cost is what it will cost. Their work is timely and competent - they are very approachable and not condescending at all. I had to update the wiring in the living room of my hundred year old house - uncovering some very funky diy not to code wiring, they gave me a quote and stuck by it, redoing what was necessary and bringing it all safely up to code. Dependable and honest, a rare thing it seems in the world of contractors and tradespeople. I have used them on a few small wiring projects in the house and will continue to do so for anything electrical that comes up. Highly recommended.
