Removing all remaining knob and tube
We decided to go with Java Electric after getting a few estimates. Their price was competitive, we liked their pricing model (based on labour, not per item like other companies) and we really liked Pierre, the electrician - he was extremely knowledgeable and easy to talk to.
Pierre and and his apprentice, Corey, arranged for all permits and inspection to remove all knob and tube from our 90+ year old home after we moved in 1.5 months prior. Both Pierre and Corey were a pleasure to work with. They were always punctual, personable, communicative and incredibly hard working. Pierre spent a lot of time in our sweltering attic to ensure he could remove all our knob and tube and replace it with new wiring. We really appreciated how they kept us in the loop about what was being done and especially his honesty about what needs to be done. Pierre explained how the electrical set up after mapping it out on day 1. And at the end of the day, he checked in to explain what was done and what he and Corey plan to do the next day. They cleaned up after the end of their work day, which we really appreciated especially since we have a toddler running around.
