Nelson reshingled our roof last year. We are extremely happy with the job he did: It looks great and we know he did a quality job.
Nelson is very professional, reliable, and goes out of his way to show you exactly what he is doing and why. He clearly takes great pride in his work. On top of all that, he is a pleasure to have around. I would recommend him without hesitation. I wish all contractors were like this!

Nelson of Allstate Roofing is great! He is a roofer who cares about the work he does. In 2011 he re-shingled our roof and took the time to explain the process. We now have an amazing roof (and chimney which he fixed as well) that we know will last a long time.

We were so impressed with his roofing that we hired him again in 2012 to change our eaves-troughs. They look fantastic and have been functioning well.

Just recently (September 2014) we asked if he could take the time to clean our eaves-troughs from all the leaves and debris that accumulated the past 2 years. Again, a great job.

His prices may be a bit higher compared to some roofers, but that's only because he refuses to use the cheaper roofing materials, and has a reputation of quality workmanship to maintain.

We had a new roof installed about 7 years ago with the idea this would be lasting for at least 15-20 before any work had to be done, we were wrong. After the first major rain storm there was a leak and the company came and fixed it or so they said, Now 7 years later another big rain came and of course a leak in the same spot...on a Friday long weekend. The original roofer did not call me back, called all the top rated companys but no one called even the ones that say they will within 24 hours no one...was referred to Nelson and he came on the Monday of the long weekend to assess the issues,, many as he took photo after photo of my roof which of course the average home owner has no idea what the finished product is because no one goes up there..there were so many problems we decided to have them fixed and he did a great job -hire Nelson a good night sleep in a bad rain storm is worth every penny.

My Roof was starting to leak and I knew it couldn't wait any longer. I decided to replace the whole thing but I wanted it done right. I called Allstate roofing to get the job done.They are professional and get it done ASAP. He uses all quality materials and does a A+ job. Even the neighbours could tell and took his number down. If your looking for a guaranteed quality Job then look no further then Allstate roofing. Now my roof is goof for 25 years and I have no stress about it. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

The roof Nelson did now needs to be replaced only after 5 years.
The job he did was terrible. The roof is leaking the metal work was done badly. He does not know how to do a flat roof even though he claims he can.

It is rare to see such passion and commitment in a tradesman. From the very beginning Nelson was eager to understand my requirements and took the time find innovative solutions to what turn out to be an unconventional installation. He insisted on taking me through each step of the work and I frequently found myself on the roof with Nelson talking through the issues. He is very proud of his work and very I much appreciated his attention to detail. This was a job well done and I have no hesitation in recommending Nelson for any roofing work.

Talk about a work ethic! My husband and I have never seen such a conscientious contractor. We have been holding off doing a major roof repair at our store for most of this past year and were finally able to do it this past month. I had gotten Nelson's name as a referral from one of my clients this past summer and hoped that when I called, he would be available to come and give a quote. Usually, you have to wait days or weeks for someone to come and see the job but not with Nelson -- he returned my call within a day and came out a day later to give us a quote. We were so impressed with how he described what was needed, the materials he was going to use (we already had experience from our house roofing job) and then with the quote he gave, that we pretty much didn't need to look elsewhere -- we called him within a day to accept the quote. We usually get at least a couple of quotes but we felt an immediate trust in what Nelson had to say about our job.

He began during the rainiest part of October and suffice to say, he stayed on top of the weather to maximize his ability to do the job expeditiously and without incident. He had to contend with cranky neighbour issues, some access issues and then some crumbling bricks and mortar under the flashing which stopped the job until the repairs could be done. Nelson handled all the unknowns with grace and humour. His crew was respectful and made sure, under Nelson's eagle eyes, to clean up the whole site.

Nelson is a treasure. Rarely do you find a contractor who remembers to call you in the evening to coordinate schedules for the next day. My husband and I have no doubt that we picked the right roofer to do this job and we know that we can count on him to come back when he says to check on the roof and to ensure that his work has solved our problems. I have already recommended him to at least 3 people and will do so again in the future. And we already hired him to finish a job our 'former' roofer did but didn't complete.

In 2003, Nelson was referred to me by my friend who is a happy customer. We scheduled an appointment and he promptly showed up, answered all my questions and made me feel secure that he knew what he was doing. His quote was certainly very fair. The next day he returned to strip off the old roof and put on ice water shield (Grace). Nelson used the best shingles possible and I understand he uses only the best materials for every aspect of a roofing job. He added one turbine and two vents to my bungalow which has helped tremendously with removing condensation. I understand this also gives a longer life to the shingles. This roof is guaranteed for 25 years and Nelson checks with me yearly to ensure that I am a happy customer. A happy customer I am for sure!
Two years after completing that job, I phoned Nelson because I had an emergency with the roof and eavestroughs on my old garage on which I had never done any roof work since moving into this house. He came within an hour to inspect what needed to be done and thankfully was able to repair that roof the same day.
I have referred Nelson to other people and will continue to do so.

Nelson came in to check my roof. The fan in my ensuite was not vented out to the roof. It was blowing air into the attic which caused condensation and mold. He connected the fan out to the roof.
He also noticed that I did not have enough vents only 3 on the backside of the house. He recommended I add 1 turbine and 2 additional vents. 1 Turbine = 4 vents so in total I have 9 vents which is sufficient for the size of my house. The next day Nelson came in and did the job in a couple of hours. Great work and very satisfied will recommend to others!!!!
