Talk about a work ethic! My husband and I have never seen such a conscientious contractor. We have been holding off doing a major roof repair at our store for most of this past year and were finally able to do it this past month. I had gotten Nelson's name as a referral from one of my clients this past summer and hoped that when I called, he would be available to come and give a quote. Usually, you have to wait days or weeks for someone to come and see the job but not with Nelson -- he returned my call within a day and came out a day later to give us a quote. We were so impressed with how he described what was needed, the materials he was going to use (we already had experience from our house roofing job) and then with the quote he gave, that we pretty much didn't need to look elsewhere -- we called him within a day to accept the quote. We usually get at least a couple of quotes but we felt an immediate trust in what Nelson had to say about our job. He began during the rainiest part of October and suffice to say, he stayed on top of the weather to maximize his ability to do the job expeditiously and without incident. He had to contend with cranky neighbour issues, some access issues and then some crumbling bricks and mortar under the flashing which stopped the job until the repairs could be done. Nelson handled all the unknowns with grace and humour. His crew was respectful and made sure, under Nelson's eagle eyes, to clean up the whole site. Nelson is a treasure. Rarely do you find a contractor who remembers to call you in the evening to coordinate schedules for the next day. My husband and I have no doubt that we picked the right roofer to do this job and we know that we can count on him to come back when he says to check on the roof and to ensure that his work has solved our problems. I have already recommended him to at least 3 people and will do so again in the future. And we already hired him to finish a job our 'former' roofer did but didn't complete.

We had an emergency masonry job that had to be completed before our roofer could finish his work. Finding someone to do the tuckpointing was proving difficult until I found your site by chance and started looking through the reviews to find someone who is near my location. I found A & A Home Improvements reviews to be exceptional and I loved his replies back to the clients -- a man after my own heart with regards to customer service!! (We own an old-fashioned retail business). So I called Andy to see if he was available to come and see our job. Unfortunately, he was busy with other jobs but he said he would make a call to a colleague on our behalf seeing that it was an emergency repair. Within minutes, he called back, told me he was able to contact someone for us and they would call us shortly. A man of his word, his contact called me within 45 minutes to tell me that in understanding our situation to be an emergency, they have been able to re-arrange another job and send someone to us at the crack of dawn the next day to give us a quote and potentially start immediately. The man arrived exactly at the time he said, he gave us the quote which was far less than I had imagined it would be and started immediately on the job. My husband and I have been so stressed out over this repair and the prospect of finding someone who can do this immediately in order for our roofer to finish on time. Andy saved our day, our roofer's schedule and our sanity. And he is making nothing on the job except for our undying gratitude. We try to offer the same customer service in our business, even when we won't be making the sale and it is very special for us to be able to find a like-minded contractor. We will definitely be calling Andy in the future to actually do some work for us!
