Our journey with BiglarKinyan began in early 2023, when a friend, who had used their design and build services, recommended them for our project. I reached out to Fardid for our initial consultation and from that very first phone call, Fardid's dedication to quality resonated with us deeply. We knew that his firm was the perfect choice to bring our dream space to life.

In March 2023, I had the pleasure of meeting Monique and Fardid at our condo to share our vision. We wanted a moody ambiance with a vacation/hotel vibe, predominantly using the color black and incorporating principles of Wabi Sabi. To our delight, just a few weeks later, they presented us with a breathtaking design and later, 3D rendering, turning our vision into a tangible reality.

However, two months into the project we faced a major setback. A leak from the buildings infrastructure caused by a malfunctioning sprinkler head flooded our entire condo, causing devastating damage. Fardid, Ken, and their incredible team stood by us through the aftermath, guiding us through negotiations with insurance and condo management. Despite losing 2.5 months of project time, their patience and support helped us restart the project in mid-December, for which we're incredibly grateful.
Now, nearing completion, our space exudes the serene, Zen-like atmosphere we envisioned.
The final deliverable is nothing short of stunning, a testament to BiglarKinyan's unwavering dedication and personalized approach. From concept to execution, Fardid and Ken's expertise shines through, exceeding our expectations at every turn.

I got to know BiglarKinyan from a co-worker who designed his kitchen and bathroom. He describes them as professionals in their work and easy to deal with. So, I called BirglarKinyan to design our open concept plan (combining kitchen, dining, and living room). Fardid and Monique met us and patiently listened to us explaining our vision of the room. It was back-and-forth communication until they produced the layout that includes electrical (lights and outlet) and the 3D model. My wife and I were very happy with the design, especially when it became real. Everything came out perfectly.

I highly recommend BiglarKinyan design services to anyone planning to do any renos. The design service is only a tiny fraction of the total renovation cost and it is worth having professionals do it for you.

We live in a 130 year old Victorian townhouse which was in need of some structural enhancements and a new kitchen. It was a tricky job once the space was gutted and we discovered water damage had rotted the part of the house and structure.

Fardid and the design team did a beautiful job at designing our space and showed us a 3D rendering and full plans for every detail. They took care of permits and logistics as well as adding a project management team.

The contractor team lead by Mike was also amazing. They looked after every detail, did beautiful wood working and went above and beyond on many items within scope. The team members were all very friendly and courteous.

We were very happy with the process from start to finish with BKDP. We were referred by a work colleague who was referred by a close friend - double referral!

We received a detailed quote and timeline. The project came in on time and on approved budget.

I would recommend the entire team and would gladly contract them again for another project.

We completed a main floor remodel including the kitchen, and opening up of space via change in load bearing walls. Fardid and the team were amazing. Their attention to detail and responsiveness made the project proceed smoothly, and now, approx 1 year after completion, we are very satisfied. The design achieved our goal of adding value and utility to our house, and there have been no issues whatsoever. We highly recommend BKDP!

We hired BKDP to redesign the entire main floor of our detached home and we were very pleased with the results! Ken from BKDP was the lead on our project he was able to recreate our vision. His team was also a pleasure to work with.

It was our pleasure to hire Biglar Kinyan Design for our extensive basement renovation. Our project involved the demolition of the existing basement, installation of a back flow preventer/sump pump and waterproofing system. It also included a complete redesign of the HVAC systems for our home, and extensive electrical and plumbing work. Finally, they did all the finishing work, including the redesign of the entire floorplan, a washroom, laundry room, closet and living space.

We could not be happier with the final results. The team at Biglar Kinyan was always professional and kind. They listened carefully to our needs during the design phase of the project in order to come up with a layout that would suit our family. Their contractors took care with our home and were always willing to address all concerns with us. When minor problems arose, the team at Biglar Kinyan was willing to go above and beyond (including a trip out to our home to ensure our washing machine was working properly before the Christmas Holidays, and providing us space heaters when our heating system was not installed in the autumn).

Our project was quite complex (with several problems that were hidden until the old walls were removed), however, their team managed all the problems successfully. At every phase of the project, they worked with us to provide options to keep as close to our original budget as possible. Furthermore, they had expertise to manage all problems as they arose.

They final product is suberb! It has changed the way we live in and enjoy our home. It was a pleasure to work with all of the members of their team, and I look forward to future renovations with their company.

I hired BKDP to design and install my main kitchen, basement kitchen and 5 bathrooms in my new build modern home. I had interviewed a number of designers previously and liked their enthusiasm for the project. The timelines were tight and I was exhausted by the time I got to the fun stuff. They did an amazing job from start to finish. I get a lot of people asking me to recommend suppliers/trades because I just built my home. There are only a few that I would highly recommend and they are one of them. We worked through the plans together and they provided a nice selection of options. They were very collaborative and really heard my needs and wants and tried to accommodate it all. They were fantastic at scheduling and being on site for important pieces of the installation and were incredibly detailed with all the specifications for the trades. The project ran very smoothly and they were incredibly responsive with any questions or concerns I had. All in all a great experience!

We have had several very positive experiences working with Fardid and Ken at BKDP. The first project in 2009 involved the entire main floor of our large split level bungalow, including gutting and redesigning the kitchen, dining room and family room, and new flooring for the large hallways and bedrooms. We were very impressed by the entire BKDP design/build process. We felt at ease with Fardid and Ken. Fardid met with us on numerous occasions, both in our home and at their office, to determine our exact needs. We appreciated their ability to “value engineer” materials and resources, without compromising design or quality. The result was a beautiful and highly functional living space.

Our family decided to remain living in our house during the renovation. Despite this, things went remarkably smoothly, thanks to Fardid and Ken’s project management skills. They were able to seamlessly coordinate the various trades required to complete the project. The trades people they engaged were generally very competent and courteous, particularly their general contractor. Although we were often at home when an issue arose, they would always contact Fardid directly. We were never bothered by minor daily issues. The entire project was within budget, with some delays in completion due to unexpected structural issues. Throughout the process, Fardid and Ken maintained timely and open communication.

We were so pleased with our initial experience with BKDP, that we have since engaged them for two additional projects. We have also recommended BKDP to our friends, who have had uniformly positive experiences with BKDP. Highly recommended.

No one believes me when I tell them that I really enjoyed my renovation especially when they hear about the scale of work that was done.

I hired BKDP and worked with the two partners, Fardid and Kenneth, to develop a design and renovate my ranch-style side-split. The design process took 2 months to complete and they were really thorough. It felt like a partnership and I felt really comfortable with the choices they made. They encouraged my feedback and used it to improve the smallest details (like finding a range hood with a remote so I don't have to reach up too high).

Once construction began, BKDP's coordinator, Emily, kept in touch with me to provide updates and answered any questions. Their contractors were courteous, professional and responded to my feedback and concerns promptly. Fardid and Kenneth did inspections and met with contractors regularly. I didn't have to worry about anything.

In the end the construction took a little over 3 months to complete and I have been loving my home since.

I would recommend BKDP to anyone who wants to do a high quality renovation. They are in a league of their own.

We live in a large, open concept turn of the century Annex home that was fully renovated in early 80s. We love the space and location but the kitchen was dated and poorly designed for a multi-cook family like ours. After evaluating several options, we choose BKDP for a kitchen design/build that was completed, on-time, on-budget, in fall 2011. We both work full time in demanding jobs and have a school-aged child so the prospect of a time-consuming kitchen reno had been daunting. Our experience with Fardid and Kenneth was terrific. In the design phase, they spent several hours with us in our existing kitchen to understand what we wanted, came up with an excellent concept for re-orienting the space, and took detailed notes on the look, feel and materials we liked. We liked the design they produced (on time) and thought the price for the design was extremely reasonable. Selecting materials and appliances was far less time consuming than we had feared because we were able to see the vast majority of the materials at their offices, avoiding endless weekend drives north of the city to look at tiles, back-splashes, cabinets, etc. When we did travel to buy things directly, they had called ahead, clarified all of the details, and we received their professional discount at the point of sale. The build phase took 10 weeks, slightly longer than predicted due to delivery problems with a sink that was beyond their control. We made a substitution which they sourced quickly, and were finished in time to cook Thanksgiving dinner. We are delighted at the outcome, a great, functional, sleek space perfect for the cooks and out guests. There were a few things that needed attention after completion of the work. We had no difficulty getting the contractors back to take care of them, including a visit from Kenneth himself when one issue wasn't resolved - he fixed it himself.

This firm has excellent design sense, project management capability, and attention to customer service that makes renovation reasonably "pain-free" and delivers a great outcome. We would not hesitate to use them for future designs and renovations.
