Beaches Foundation Repair

The foundation of my 100-year old Beaches home was poured with beach sand and pebbles. It was repaired about 50 years ago, and that repair was failing. The parging was cracked and falling off inside and out.

Glen and his crew removed the parging and several inches of loose material, reinforced the old concrete, poured new cement, and re-parged. They also replaced three rows of bad bricks along the entire length of the exterior wall.

I suspect the work was more than anticipated, but Glen stuck to the quoted price. The work was top quality. I highly recommend Castle Rock Masonry.

Disaster

We had a terrible experience with Castlerock Masonry. Glen was hired to do some work on the foundation of our home. He was careless and sloppy, and when we reached out to him to discuss the work he ignored our emails and phone calls. Total disaster.

Tuck-pointing, Lintels, Brick Repair

Was removing a window, shrinking the opening and installing a new window. Additionally, needed major brick repair and double-lintel install to accommodate new window.

Glen did a fantastic job. Relatively quick, communicated the work well, was on time and on budget. Even did a bit extra where necessary to ensure the job was done well.

Highly recommend. I would certainly use Castlerock/Glen again should I have a need for more brick-work.

Tuckpointing

Glen and his team worked on my house, doing an extensive tuckpointing job to reduce draft and moisture inside the house, which was built in 1910. He did a great job. He did the work on schedule, is a very honest business person, cleaned up properly when they were done. I recommend Glen and his company.

Several projects: pargining. Rebuilding brick. Cutting brick.

Simply put, Glen is meticulous. Very pleasant. Very creative. I don't think there is anyone better.

The job site was clean and well organized when the work was in progress and not a scrap left when finished. Quality of workmanship is of the highest quality.

Excellent advice before we started on what should be done and how.

moved a door way, removed poor brick patch jobs, brick cleaning, and repaired and replaced bad bricks

The previous owner of our house, had bricked in a window and expanded a doorway on the back of our 111 year old house. Unfortunately he did so with various bits and pieces of brick, concrete block, concrete paver, pretty much whatever he could get his hands on. When it came time for us to move the doorway, we were hoping to correct this. Glen not only took out the patch work of miscellaneous masonry, he also tied in the new brickwork seamlessly with the original 111 year old bricks. He took great care in cleaning the brick on the entire back of our house, and did a bunch of additional items, like tuck-pointing some spots on our stone foundation, as well as patching the holes that were previously drilled for vents. The back of our house now looks incredible thanks to Glen.

Brick cleaning, repointing, mortar ,etc.

Glen & his partner were exceptional. Totally honest about the work that needed to be done. Started when promised and finished earlier than stated. Four other households in my area have used Castlerock Masonry as well. I wish all contractors were this conscientious.

Approximate cost of services:
$4,500.00
