TV repair/replacement under warranty

Back in 2011 I bought a Samsung LCD TV and a Full Circle Warranty for 299$. About 2 weeks ago the TV stopped working when the picture would not come on (but the sound worked).
Right away I found my warranty and called Transglobal.

Initial phone call went well, the Transglobal employee was polite and asked my permission to use my first name. I dont find that necessary to ask, but the politeness was appreciated. I explained the situation with the TV and they set up an appointment for a repairman to come to my home. I believe I called on Friday and the repairman would come on Wednesday.

On Monday the repairman calls and asks for the serial number of the TV. I think he reconfirmed that he would be coming on Wednesday. On Wednesday morning he called and said he'd be there between 12-2 and he came at 1:55 so pretty much when he said. Right on time. He also asked us to take the TV off the wall if it was mounted, which we did. I was really impressed that he put on plastic booties to protect our floors. He was very polite and friendly to us. He did some tests on the TV and figured it was the invertor. He gave us a receipt and took the TV with him to the repair shop. He told us to call Transglobal on Friday to find out the status of the TV.

On Friday I called and found out that I'd been approved for a new TV. My TV was still under the full circle warranty, as it did not expire until May 2015. The Transglobal employee on the phone was again very polite and helpful. They gave us a confirmation code to confirm that we were approved for a new TV.

That same day we headed to the Brick to get a new TV. Now this is the only part of the story thats slightly negative. When the sales guy saw my full circle warranty folder, and I told him I wanted to get a TV, he said the warranty only could be used for furniture and mattresses. Well, excuse me, but my TV was still covered, why would I want to get a mattress, can I hang that on my wall? Does it get good reception? What happened was the salesman assumed my warranty was expired and I wanted to spend my store credit. (If you dont use the warranty before it expires, you can spend it on store credit but ONLY on furniture and mattresses). This was not the case. After a little investigation, they found my TV was still covered by warranty so he helped me to find a good TV that came close to my store credit (760$ or so). Over all my experience in the Brick was overall positive but would have been better if the salesman hadn't assumed my warranty was expired. I guess they get people coming in a lot to spend their credit. Oh well. I got a good TV to replace my broken one and the experience with transglobal and the brick was actually a very positive one. I didn't have to pay anything for the repair or new TV, just the initial cost of the warranty which covered the replacement.

Approximate cost of services:
$299.00
