Never again!

Do Not Use Roto Rooter. They will not book an appointment with out a credit card, they they charge your credit card more than twice their worst scenario quote and dot tell you. You have to bug them to get a copy of the invoice and they provide no detail or explanation. Then they wont respond to calls or emails about the billing.
No parts use and in the house 1.5 hours during mid-day Monday operating hours on a Monday that was not a holiday.
I am posting this after not getting any reply from them.
Find a different company..

Lived with this problem for several days, was hoping friends would help me out but a friend told me about Roto Rooter and they came so quickly.
Very pleased with the service, the young man who came at 10.30 at night put my mind at ease and was very quick and efficient. He was called Chris and did a great job. If I have any more plumbing problems I would call them immediately. Now I can enjoy my weekend

We ran into some plumbing issues and contacted a different company who said they would not be available for 4 days, we then contacted Roto Rooters and had same day service. It was reasonably priced. The technician Said he repaired both issues but couldn't guarantee his work. Needless to say we have contacted the original company.

I have used this company in the past found their work satisfactory... not great but okay and I didn't know who else to call to snake out a drain. After this recent visit, I will never call them again or recommend them. The technician arrive with an apprentice which was fine. The technician them proceeded to drag out the job to go over the 1 hour mark so he could charge for a longer service call. I had asked for a FREE estimate for a sump pump but by dragging out the job I felt like I paid for the estimate. The technician spent about 20 minutes in the van teaching the apprentice how to make out a proper invoice and again, I felt like I was paying to train the apprentice. As the two men were in the van writing up the bill, I politely expressed how I felt. The technician avoided me and made the apprentice give the bill to me. Foolish and short sighted on their part because they lost my business for a $2000 sump pump job. I contacted another plumber for the sump pump, got a much more thorough explanation and better price and a much better way to solve my problem.

I had a broken sewer pipe just outside my foundation caused by root in my pipes, had my line snaked out, where they found the issues with the roots, they came and fixed it.

I called roto rooter to look at my plugged toilet. They came and snaked the line but noticed some growing cracks and offered to replace the toilet on the spot. Good service and would highly recommend.

When the basement flooded which caused the hot water tank to go out, they showed up, fairly quickly and they appeared to be fixing the issue. The end of the day came and they simply left without the problem being fixed. I was not impressed, and nor will I call again.

I have been reading past stories regarding roto rooter and I find myself so not very alone.
The work carried out caused greater damage to my main line.
When called back , the technician (not a licened plumber as lead to believe) demanded payment upfront and also my credit card number (I have previously paid by cheque) to add further insult.
After asking this fellow to leave I was left with no option but to call in the City to inspect and clean my main. It was a rescue. The city even reduced their costs to me understanding the amount of money already paid to rotor rooter.
The Owner (I assume) called me to state he was sending back my payment I had to hang up on him due to his confrontational manner.
If the cheque arrives, great, I will use it to help with my water damage costs...

I was having the city inspect my sewage line to approve a sump pump installation, and they ran into sludge in the line and could not complete the inspection. We called Roto Rooter to clean out the sludge, and I mentioned on the phone call that we needed it to be flushed out (rather than snaked).

When the plumber arrived, I showed him exactly where the sewer line was, and explained that it needed to be cleaned out to fit the city's camera in. He proceeded to use the power snake on it, and as I have very little plumbing knowledge, I didn't question it. The water now drains faster, but when the city came back to inspect, they still could not fit their camera through.

I spoke to the owner of the company, and he was completely unwilling to do anything except send another plumber at full cost. He repeatedly tried to argue with me, insisting that I should have told the plumber to flush the line, and when I told him not to expect any future business from me, his response was that he had thousands of customers in this area. Obviously, the owner does not care about customer service/satisfaction, just about collecting his money.
