Avoid Metro Wide Paving at all costs
This has got to be the worst company I've ever dealt with in my 4+ years of working in the renovation industry. After working on a project with Metro Wide Paving with sub par results at best, I made the mistake of hiring them for my own house thinking Jason, the 'sales and marketing' guy, would take a little more care on my job.
After pouring new asphalt on my driveway during the summer heat wave of 2019, multiple deficiencies were reported to them because of it not setting properly due to the heat. Contact was repeatedly attempted on my behalf to get the issues rectified for a year with excuse after excuse from Jason. He has made a point of blaming me for the deficiencies (i.e. if I hadn't turned my car wheels in my driveway, the numerous and highly visible wheel depressions would never have appeared, if I hadn't put a plywood work bench on the driveway over a year later, grooves wouldn't have appeared in the asphalt, etc.). Initially Jason had his brother use a blow torch on the spots which did absolutely nothing but burn areas on the driveway causing an unsightly result. When I tried the following spring to get the issues properly corrected, he offered to have his father in law come to 'look at the issues as a favour', but it was made very clear to me by his father in law and Jason himself that these were not in fact legitimate issues and nothing substantial was going to be done to rectify the damage (though they did offer to blow torch it again!).
There are a ton of paving companies in a GTA - do yourself a favour and call any single one of them but these guys.

Hi Parris,
While I enjoyed working along side you and your team at the Richards Group over the last three years, your blatant attempts to tarnish our company name is saddening to say the least. We have completed multiple projects for your clients and have always had extremely positive reviews. Some of your clients are even in these reviews providing us with 10/10 ratings. So the lies you tell about how horrible we are are laughable as you continued to use our services and provide very positive feedback.
Now I do not deny there is very minor issues to your driveway, which you admittedly caused by cranking the steering wheel of your car while stationary causing aesthetic scuff marks on the asphalt. You also admitted to putting a table with heavy tools on the driveway in 32 degree plus weather and were shocked to see the legs of the table cause indentations, even though we explained asphalt is a pliable material and can dent, bent, and shift in certain conditions. Although neither of these are warranty issues we agreed to come out to heat, buff and tamp these areas. You were very clear that if we were not going to replace the entire driveway than we should not step foot on the property. That was by no means a reasonable solution to issues you yourself caused. We were more than willing to provide a reasonable solution, while you demanded very unreasonable and unfair action be taken.
You also had your lawyer threaten to sue me. That was put to rest quickly after me explaining how you have committed libel defamation and that we would be countersuing for defamation of character. After presenting him with past text messages from you, emails from you, and testimonials from your clients all stating how happy you are with our work and how you will continue to refer us, he very quickly decided to put the lawsuit aside and said we should put matters to rest. Even your lawyer sees you are trying to take advantage of a very minor situation. You have lied about our working relationship online as a means of harming my reputation while I have proof of past praise and desire to continue to have us execute projects for your clients. It is sad it had to come to this, but I'm glad to truth came out and your lawyer no longer has to waste time pursuing a fruitless endeavour.
