Three weeks ago I contacted Jed and I requested a quote to do our entire house before we moved in. Jed provided a quote without asking for any additional information about the job. That should have been a red flag. We agreed to services over a week and a half ago set up a start date of 8am on Saturday Sept 10th. Jed checked in with me at 6:12 pm today to make sure we were ok for the 8am start. I texted back saying we were good to go. Jed then asked a few questions about the paint colour, contents of the house and when he thought that we would have stuff in the house, he suggested that we'd need to renegotiate the price. Then Jed asked about the ceiling, I told him it was textured. His response was "Wow ceiling are textured you should have told me that" I'm assuming if it was an issue he would clarified it upfront, before offering a quote and committing to a job.
He then said "That makes a big difference in the price ""They would have to be sprayed" again, assuming it was an issue he would clarified it upfront, before offering a quote and committing to a job. Finally he said"Maybe you should get some one else. I don't don't do textured ceilings" so again if he didn't do these types of ceilings, wouldn't it be logical to assume that you would want to know what type of ceilings they would before making a commitment to take on the job ?
So if you are looking for a painter that doesn't follow through on commitments, doesn't take the time to truly understand the job before giving a quote and backs out last minute, then look no further, Jed at Paramount Painting is your guy !!
