Installation of chimney caps: they were confident they would help fix a serious draft problem and were right - it did. Very professional: Viewed the job, gave a price and did the work in a timely manner as agreed. (amazing they did such a great job in absolutely awful weather!) Workers were very punctual, neat and thoughtful.

I called Townshend chimney at 416-231-0791 and spoke to Jen and with in 2 weeks the job was seen and done. The boys were wonderful. They did a great job and cleaned everything so well that you couldn't tell such a big job was done. it is nice to see a caring company for once! I have had alot of work around the house (its old) and a good reputable company is very hard to find.

Im surprised by the last persons comments??!! I found them all great (phone girl, workers, estimaters..). I got alot of tuckpointing done almost the whole house! The last guy mentioned he paid 500 which to me seems like just a little bit of work if he needed as much as he is saying he would of been paying 1000s more (this makes sense doesn't it?). But in my case they did the work and even alittle more. they were on time and nice and very professional. i referred 2 friends to them also, and both said excellent work! I will be using them again for sure.

William Townshend comes from the family of chimney specialists that are well known in Etobicoke and William himself mainly operated in Scarborough until recently when he moved to Burlington. I was lucky enough to get him to rebuild my two chimneys on a two story house in Oakville

His quote was competitive, he knows the work, carries the required licences, provides no-nonsense concise explanations, gives 10 year warranty.
He chose the color of the bricks to match my 28 year old house to perfection, demolished the old chimneys without damaging the roof or anything else on the property and rebuilt the two chimneys: one with existing ceramic lining and the other with existing steel lining.

I am an engineer and very demanding of contractors I hire.
Out of four quotes I took William was the most competitive, no nonsense and completed the project with perfect quality.

This company I highly recommend. They were great from the start. The girl on the phone (Jen) was highly trained and informative. The guys were all nice guys and know there work. They make sure you are 100% satisfied and even go beyond what they were paid to do. I got a chimney rebuild done. It looks great but they also filled a few holes on my house in for free because they wanted it to look good they said. I am very happy with all of them and hope people try them out for any brick work. This is what customer satisfaction is all about.

I am surprised with the other review. I have had lots of work done by them on both chimneys and on my porch. Also 2 neighbours have had work done. They have great prices and wonderful employees. I never found any problems at all and actually found the lady answering the phone very knowledgeable. They have a very well known reputation and I found they stood by it. The work was done very neatly and looks wonderful. Myself and my neighbours will use them again.

This company produced a very low estimate for tuckpointing our 1910 home, and I was a little suspicious but gave them the job anyway. Unfortunately I was not around when they came to give the estimate and also when they did the work. I called their office to confirm that they were going to tuckpoint all around the three walls and I was assured that was what they were going to do so. They came to start work in the AM and I guess they estimated 1/2 day for two people. Anyway my wife came home at noon, and they were ready to leave. She pointed out some of the things they missed, and they said they never estimated to do all the small things, and grumpily and slopily started filling in holes where they could reach. My wife paid them and they left.

I was away and did not get home until the following day, and found that they had only done a few spots, and certainly not some of the major items that needed attention.

I tried calling the office but the women never answers the phone directly, even when I was calling before they started any work. She has not returned my calls. So basically she hides behind the phone system.

I was disappointed, but not surprised, and maybe they did $500 worth of work and maybe they didn't. Regardless I still need to do some tuckpointing and I'm thinking I might as well do it myself.
