Townshend Chimney

They repaired the chimney and did an excellent great job, very tidy, they made sure everything was clean before they left. They protected everything around the house before they worked, making sure it was neat.

I was very pleased with their work, the owner directed them and there was constant supervision while they worked. They went at it methodically and it took a good amount of time. I needed some work done by a roofer that they couldn’t complete and they recommended someone for the job.

They tore down my old chimney down to the shingles and rebuilt it. The other one was 80 years old and close to my neighbour’s chimney. It seems to be good from the bottom floor, it draws well when fires are lit.

The one thing that concerned me was I wasn’t sure whom I was hiring; there was quite a bit of ambiguity around them. I looked them up online and found their number. The internet said they’ve been working for 30- 40 years on chimneys and after I signed an agreement I mentioned they had worked on my neighbors home and had some questions and they said “well that’s a different Townshend,” it sounds like a family company that had a separation of the ways. I’m not necessarily dissatisfied, time will tell. Call me in ten years, see if my chimneys leaking. Afterwards the chimney was complete I had the roof done and asked the installer about they chimney work that had been done (since they were up there and could see) the roofer said “they did an okay job,” didn’t rave about it. Still I don’t really have any complaints about their work. I’d recommend getting in touch with both Townshends and then deciding.

They rebuilt the top of my chimney and I am very happy with their work. They were reliable and they gave me the best estimate out of everyone. It was written out nicely on the sheet and other company’s just named me a price without a breakdown. They came when they were supposed to and did everything in a professional manner.

Towshend came in and rebuilt our chimney and put in a steel liner. They were very professional and did a great job cleaning up, never messy. I think the work they did was very good, we had them do the same job 23 years ago and hired them again recently. I’d definitely recommend them.

Came on short notice when annual furnace repair found holes in the old chimney liner. They provided a fair quote, and returned the next day to do the work capably and conscientiously.
