furnace repair

having an older furnace in a 16 year old home we were glad to find that it does pay to carry a protection plan with Reliance Home comfort, Thinking that the blower motor had given up on us i called Reliance Yanch to see what was involved in process to get us up and running agian, After a pleasant chat with Kyle he listened to my senario and thoughts of what i thought it might be and then assured me that a tech would have a closer look at the problem,,The tech arrived at the time promissed (fast) and after some diagnostic magic (mark) had the problem pegged as a deffective circuit board,,I was worried that parts might not be available for an older furnace and was going to be pushed to buy a new furnace,, but not doing, someone managed to find one and assured me it would be here the very next morning, Kyle called back to say he would have me first call in the morning and as promised (Dan) showed up at 805,, Kyle said between 8 and 9 I was starting to feel like someone special,, The tech (Dan) knew exactly what to do and even made some minor tweaks to the system to make it work that much better,, With all the badmouthing that goes on in the trades and some which is very warranted, it is our right to voice our opinions and demand what we are due but it seems too many good deeds and jobs well done go unrewarded,,To this point i feel the staff and techs at Reliance Yanch that i have dealt with thus far have been profressional and pleasure to deal with,, very polite, knowledgeable, and respectful of my needs and concerns,, Kyle, Mark, Dan.. hats off to you, for making me a believer in the service trades,, Till you prove me wrong i will continue to put my trust in your service,, There are still some that give credit where credit is due, You employer should be proud of you all.

heating

My furnace just quit , no reason , no warning. I was worried I'd have to wait several days for a repair and it would be costly as my furnace is an older model. Yanch answered all my questions and sent a repairman quickly. He explained a couple of possible repairs and advised me on the "health" of my furnace. I would recommend them for new furnaces and repairs on existing furnaces.

Sincerely,

Ramona Gross

Furnace repair

We've had our furnace break down in the middle of the nite during a super cold spell in 2011. Called the emergency number and the tech arrived in about an hour to repair. He had just woken up but was as pleasant as could be and was truly concerned about making sure we were goin to be comfortable. Thanks!!

installed Airconditioning

We shopped various companies to buy our air conditioning from and felt that we received the best service from Yanch. He took the time to review various brands of air conditioners with us and talked about the reasons for the size that suited our needs. They gave us a day that they would come and install the a/c and were prompt to show up, very friendly, and made some suggestions to conserve energy and keep the house cool. We were so impressed with the company that we call them if we have problems with our furnace (which was not purchased from them). The sensor on the furnace broke during a huge winter storm and the temp in the house dropped really fast. The service guy came in the middle of the night and fixed it- because he was prepared with spare parts- no waiting required! We will used them again and recommend them to everyone.

Yanch Geothermal Unit

Had a geothermal system installed in 2008. During the first 8 months had 8 service calls. Each heating season, the same thing...new part has to be installed. We complained about uneven hot water since installation and were given a variety of excuses, all due to our inexperience. The customer is always at fault with Yanch. Turns out the uneven heating is due to the defective heating elements in the hot water tank. We had to deal with the manufacturer directly because Yanch will not return our calls. They sent out replacement heating elements acknowledging the originals were from a "bad run". Yanch was to replace them under warranty. Yanch refused and wanted $160.00 for a service call and $90.00 an hour for labour. Seriously? They said the hwt was out of warranty even though we have been complaining about it since it was installed. It isn't our fault they can't diagnose geo issues. Not only is the hwt malfunctioning, but the geo unit is starting up in phase 2 again this heating season which means it is running off hydro and this is why my bills have increased 40%. This will probably go to court but in the meantime, DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE CROOKS.

High Efficiency furnace and water heater

We were looking for a local company and after asking friends and gettin two quotes and visiting the location we decided with their experience and knowlege we would have Yanch complete the installation of our new furnace. This was being done under the engergy retrofit. They made sure everything was done and cleaned up well when done. They checked with us later to see how things were going a week later. We had them replace our A/C as well a year later.

Geothermal Heating/AC

I made the unfortunate mistake of going with a big, local company who I hoped a) knew what they were doing, and b) would stand behing their product and installation.

In the end, I was left with a system which was not installed or connected correctly, duct work that was poorly installed and required extensive rework to seal leaks and provide proper air flow, and bills from other sub-contractors to fix items that Yanch damaged while on site.

To top everything, the dealer refused to honor any warranty at all and I was left with a non-functional heating system in November, two months after installation.

They had no idea what they were doing, and the owners care VERY little about customer service or satisfaction. If you take them to task, they will leave you hanging out to dry at the first opportunity.

Thankfully, I found another dealer who will honor the manufacturers warranty and they actually know what they are doing.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS !!

What could this company do to improve their services?
Complete management change and the owners should retire and go into a business that doesn't have customers.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Make sure they know what they are doing. Ask for, and check references.
