We still owe Centra $5000 and have refused to pay. Centra first response was that they will put a lien on our house. I said sure but we will see you in small claims long before we sell the house that is not we own 100%.
We had requested to have replacement windows installed. Centra has left the original aluminum frame in the house can covered over them with a sleeve system.
At no time during any ever sales conversations or discussions you mentioned that he'd be taking out the glass and put in a sleeve on top of the existing frame. Centra windows were the most expensive quotation we received and the reason why I thought Centra expensive was because of your quality, workmanship, warranty and the fact that Centra installs the windows themselves. In the end Centra have not replace the frames that are in the house. Centra did not use any stainless steel screws as you promised. you have used common plated screws to hold in the new sleeve style frames into the finished interior window frames.
We talked about the warranty the quality of the installation you mentioned that Centra uses stainless steel screws so they would not rust and told me other companies probably use regular or plated screws.
Heather and myself had phoned on separate occasions to clarify on the size of the bedroom windows. I was told there'd be approximately 0.5 inch of glass loss. We've lost 1+ inch.
The upstairs bathroom window we lost approximately 50% of the glass and now have an opening that's less than 8 inches tall. There are more square inches of plastic in the bathroom sleeve frame then there is glass.
The sealed unit by the front door according to the window quote was supposed to Artic design and safety glass. we do not receive this design on the sealed unit.
I estimate that the method of using sleeve windows over the existing frame is a lot cheaper and quicker than replacing the metal frame.
Centra should have two options for customers. 1: Replace the frame and glass and 2:Your sleeve method of just replacing the glass.
Presently 4 of the 13 windows have moisture problems. One window is worse than the original window. Here come the mould and mill dew.
