Premiere Van Lines

We contacted Premiere Van Lines on the advice of a friend. We were planning a move between cities in Alberta, needed our belongings stored for a few weeks and had some precious furniture pieces that we really didn't want to have damaged.

The estimate from Premiere came in a little bit higher than the other companies we contacted but they were able to provide a tractor-trailer, driver & crew *based out of their home office* to handle the unloading in the new city - other companies would contract out the shipping and unloading. For us, it was worth a few extra dollars to have a Premiere crew on both ends of the move.

Our Estimator was very knowledgeable and our Move Coordinator, Shirley, was professional, attentive, well organized and friendly. Her communication was timely, clear and accurate. She always did exactly what she said she would do, and was always available to answer questions and explain things to whatever level of detail I required in order to fully understand.

Premiere offered services for blanketing our furniture and also storing our belongings at their warehouse facility. Shirley did an excellent job of explaining the blanketing process and how our belonging would be secured in their storage warehouse. She even offered us the opportunity to tour the warehouse. Ultimately we decided to handle our own packing, blanketing and storage because it gave us a bit more flexibility in the weeks leading up to the move (we could clear boxes out of the house gradually which made living in the house more comfortable as we packed up).

The first phase of our move involved moving just the furniture into our self-storage locker (we moved the boxes ourselves prior to that). The moving crew was top notch. They covered our floors of our house with runners and they handled our furniture carefully. They were very accommodating with my requests to handle certain pieces with extra care, lift & carry in a particular way, etc. They were friendly, professional, thoughtful, and *extremely* hard working. We requested the same crew for the 2nd phase of the move and happily, Premiere was able to arrange for that to happen.

The second phase of the move involved loading all our belongings (furniture and boxes) from our self-storage locker onto a tractor trailer, and then the next day driving it to the new city and unloading it in the house. The driver and crew, John, Eric & Rob, arrived right on time and they had the semi-trailer expertly loaded in just a few hours. Then early the next morning they arrived at the house in the new city and immediately got to work. They prepared our floors with extra care at my request. John had even brought along extra floor runners just because he knew I'd had the carpets cleaned that week. Once again, they were absolutely fantastic - skilled, attentive, careful, accommodating, conscientious and friendly. Also, amazingly hard working - we were shocked at how quickly they got everything unloaded with virtually no damage to our house and possessions. There was one only one casualty - a small bit of damage to a piece of furniture that we cared about so little that we hadn't even bothered to wrap it. Nevertheless, when John noticed the damage, he pointed it out right away, which I think speaks to the integrity of the Premiere crew. John, Eric and Rob treated us really well and did an outstanding job.

We were very satisfied with our experience using Premiere. The final cost ended up being lower than we expected and considering the care and hard work that all the Premiere personnel put into it, we feel it was a bargain for what we paid. I can't say enough good things about my experience with Premiere Van Lines and I would recommend the company without hesitation.

Not only was the crew terrific (friendly and personable) but they went above and beyond by moving both homes in one day. I did not see them stop once to rest and they handled all of our belongings carefully. They were AMAZING! Moving 2 households into one with 4 kids combined has been very stressful. Having amazing movers helped so much. Thank you! I will recommend your company to anyone who will listen!!

The complete move has been hassle free, uncomplicated, fast and professional. Nicole has been a great help and was unbelievable responsive. Sometimes, Emails have been answered in a few minutes! 10/10 would move again with Premiere :-)

Professionalism and friendliness of staff. I've used Premiere several times and wouldn't think to call anyone else. The staff don't complain when met with challenges. They appear to take the same level of care as if they were their own possessions they were moving.

With moving companies, you get what you pay for. I had a bad experience in the past with smaller local companies. These guys were friendly and accommodating to my needs as I had changed my destination a few times moving from an apartment in Calgary to an apartment in Vancouver. Office staff were helpful and the movers were friendly and gentle with fragile items. They came prepared with pads and wrapped everything.

However they did charge extra for a "shuttle fee" because they brought a HUGE truck and couldn't park it anywhere (this was written in the contract). A little research on the areas and they could have avoided this. They agreed to reduce the fees by half but still blamed me for not telling them there was nowhere to park the big truck. It should be the responsibility of the movers to determine what size truck they need based on the items I needed moved and what parking is available at the building. Just another way moving companies screw us out of money.

The Moving Crew (Trevor, Randy, and Bill) did an excellent job. They were knowledgeable, experienced, and careful. They also worked hard. We feel that we got good value for the money we spent on this aspect of the move. The gentleman (I think his name is Frank)that picked up our table & chairs in Edmonton and delivered them to us in Calgary also did an excellent job and we feel that we got good value for the money we spent on this aspect of the move. Rod Schwartz and Nicole Doiron were both very professional and courteous and did an excellent job of coordination our move. It was a pleasure to work with both of them.

Movers arrived on time. Very professional and made sure to cover all floors. Took extra care of the high end furniture. Very efficient and I was very happy with them. All boxes and furniture were placed where I wanted or where I had indicated on the boxes.

Most: Movers were organized, courteous and keeping the house clean (using mats etc.) was a priority. Least: Few items that were picked up from basement were placed in basement at the destination as well while these were labeled for other rooms.

The three man crew was punctual, friendly, and hardworking. They were very accommodating with changes during the day as we retrieved and filled the wardrobe boxes and wrapped the TVs. The booking process was also very smooth with the help of Nicole and the on site assessment.
