Dealt with them in August 2009, called to install a tankless water heater. Somewhat professional sales pitch and a good looking price... it quickly went downhill from there:
1. technicians are rude, unprofessional, badmouthing the company
2. in some cases technicians barely speak English, which is not a problem until #3
3. technicians cut corners and installed only one vent pipe (exhaust) through the house wall. Open up manufacturer's manual that came with the unit, and in black and white it says: must install both intake and exhaust pipes directly to outside, otherwise bad things will happen and warranty will be void (specifically, backdrafting will cause freezing of the unit in colder climates). Had to argue almost to a point of shouting - their argument was that installation price included "basic installation service". Whatever that means. Eventually I called the bank and stopped the check, and they had no choice but to come back and do it correctly.
4. When they left, we had to shut off the unit because of gas smell, if you can believe it. We had to threaten to call Enbridge for them to get back in. Then they argued that there was no gas leak, going by the soap bubbles measuring method. I insisted that they used something more scientific - and sure enough there was a gas leak. Fixed.
5. One year later, I am calling to get my first year's free maintenance, and - surprise - since it was not written into the boilerplate contract, I am out of luck.
So now I am looking for another company to take over maintenance of this unit, as these people will not be allowed back into my house.

- $3,100.00
