Stay Away From mapeland homes in Calgary!!
STAY AWAY!!!!
First of all they have the worst final grade ever. I couldnt see the final grade due to the snow being taller then the deck when I purchased my house, my realtor signed off under the impression the associate from Mapeland homes was honest!! Key word honest.
So after I step out onto my backyard and fall because the deck steps were built horribly, i smashed my glassware and hurt my wrist. The deck stairs were held together by two screws, one was 2 inches long adn the other was half an inch long.
The final grade is 6-8 inches below the tar line along the house!!
The concrete piles holding the deck up aren't even centered , half the deck isnt fully support on these. Also the final grade doesnt even cover these concrete posts.They are 9 inches bove ground.
The metal gate along the back window isnt even touching the ground, thats how horrible the final grade is. Its fully exposed, I can lift it up no problem.
The electrical box in the basement isnt even fully caulked, the dry wall plastic is already falling down in this area around the electrical box.
The fan in the spare bathroom wasnt wired correctly, it was wired backwards.
I mentioned all these things to the site supervisors and they said check this check that its the main vent in the basement thats left on... No the main vent switch is not in the basement its on the main floor.. its not left on. SO I got a electrician friend to wire it correctly.
They still wont fix my final grade either. I need 3-5 truck loads of clay and prob another 2-3 truck loads of top soil to just bring my yard to final grade.
Nothing but problems dealing with this outfit. you call to get help and they wont give you any phone numbers and say they will contact you when they have time.... waited days before they even call you back and still nothing!!
