I used ServiceMaster through my insurance company after a flood in my condo. They said the right things immediately afterward to reassure me, and have me believe they’d do a quality restoration. It was a disaster. They didn’t start the job when they said they would, it took far longer than they said it would, and they didn’t finish small things they should have in my view. I was out of my condo for months. Some of the trades they use were good; others were horrible. I had to hire another contractor to finish the work they started, and I wish I’d hired the second contractor in the first place — they were fantastic. I would never recommend ServiceMaster of East Toronto, nor would I work with them again.

Absolutely terrible. We had a fairly large fire insurance claim. Service Master Brampton was our insurance companies approved vendor so we went with them for the emergency work as well as the reconstruction. Somewhere during the packing, storage and move back they lost and/or damaged a good number of our belongings. We had to argue with them to compensate and only after the insurance company got involved did they take some responsibility. The project manager did a poor job of organization and we had to have the owner take over. For reconstruction a large number of the sub trades they hired performed poor quality work and many things they needed to come back twice, three and sometime more times to try and do correctly. Luckily we had a good Insurance Adjuster and she helped push them to address their mistakes in addition to escalating and getting the vendor relations team at the insurance company involved (filing a formal complaint with them now). The end result is things dragged on for almost four extra months with them (on a job supposed to be four months). Lesson learnt that approved vendor doesn't mean quality vendor and be sure to do your homework before hiring a insurance companies approved contractor.

After our basement was flooded in summer of 2013 we had to hire cleaners to remove the flood water, damaged furniture, and also removal of all unused materials as we were in the middle of renovating our basement. In this stressful time, these professionals were able to quickly turn our basement around.

We used service master after we had a flood.
They were great.
They upgraded up to great floors, dark chocolate brown.
We were also dealing with our home insurance at the time and the two communicated well to get the job done!
