It turned out that in the unique case of my old house, the new steel roof project required additional engineering consultants & / or removal of old roof material (two layers of shingles and slate). This understandably added $$ to the proposal. They promptly refunded my deposit as I needed more time to save up! How cool is that? Kudos to those in the industry who, like Max, err on the side of doing the right thing!
