I hired Cal-res to paint my new home that I just bought. I thought they seemed expensive, but they had good reviews so I was willing to pay top prices in order to get great quality. What I liked about this company is; I didn't have to pay anything until the job was complete, they worked very quickly, and the quality of the painting is pretty good, Everyone I met was very nice, but I can't say that I'm as happy as I should be for what I paid. I decided I wanted to hire them before I got possession of the house so I had to make an appointment with the "then" owners to be able to come and take measurements. I showed up to the house with my realtor, and nobody showed from Cal-Res. I called and Josh was very apologetic and said he had forgotten, so I figured I would just make another appointment to get it done. When we did end up meeting, I asked for him to give me a quote to refinish my cabinets, and he never did send it. Painting day came and it only took a short while before it was pretty complete. I showed up on the day that I was told it would be done by, and I found it in a state that did not look finished at all. Many switch plate covers had not been replaced, and some that were had been screwed too tight and were broken. There were coffee cups and garbage laying around. A large crack that had not been filled, just painted over. droplets of paint all over the place, on my hardwood, bathtub, toilet. a large coffee stain in the middle of my carpet. An entire room painted that I had specifically asked not to be. Painters tape still up. A valance had been replaced that was now covered in dirty fingerprints. Somebody had come in with muddy shoes and tracked mud on the carpets. A portion of a wall had only gotten one coat, and it was very obvious. I now have a very large scratch in my hardwood floor. The key that they had used was left in the doorknob and not in the lock box. The list goes on. It did not seem like much care was taken with my home at all I assumed that they had just not finished the job, but I was told that it was complete. When I raised my concerns, somebody came over quite quickly to address my concerns, which I was very happy about. I was told that the stain in the carpet was there before, even though it was still wet when I cam to check on the progress right after they had left and nobody else had been in the house. They tried to get it out, but I'm still left with a big stain. The partial wall that only got one coat never did get a second. My beautiful floor still has a big scratch. Still broken switch plates, one not replaced, and screws missing from some, which every now and then I find with my foot in the carpet. And I still have one room painted that shouldn't have been, with no offer at all to change it. I expected that I would receive a call to check on my satisfaction, but I never did.
***Update***
I'm very happy with everything that was done to address my concerns. Cal-Res came over very quickly and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. There is a reason they have great reviews.
