Too bad we didn't read the reviews BEFORE we bought!
Our old Jenn-Air 48" built-in side-by-side refrigerator stopped working. We needed a new fridge quickly. We searched and found very little choice available. We located a "floor model" at the Canadian Appliance Source location in Etobicoke. My wife drove down from our home in Maple to check it out. It looked pretty good. She ordered it, arranged through CAS for removal of the old fridge (the next day), delivery (the day after that) & installation (in 1 week) of the new one and paid a deposit. We had to pay the balance the same day.
The following day 2 guys showed up to remove our old fridge. They stood there looking like deer in headlights and said they didn't know how to remove a fridge like ours. They left and we had to remove our own fridge as the new fridge was coming the next day! How inept is that?
The delivery and installation went OK. It was only when I went to register our fridge that I discovered that, because the company that CAS uses exclusively to remove and install fridges was not a Jenn-Air Certified Installer we would not be getting the free 1 year extended warranty. This was worth $279.99 + HST. Jenn-Air told me there was nothing they could do as we had to use a certified installer. I emailed our salesman, Imran, but he just said that that was the only installer they used. He offered to SELL me that extended warranty at a discount. I suggested that the only reason I could come up with for this situation was that CAS only got "referral fees" from that installer but not from Jenn-Air certified installers.
Looks like small claims court is the next step!
Seems like the many 1 star reviewers were right - this company only cares about today's sale, not the customer, not after-sales-service, not future sales, just money today.
