Professional, Reliable, Responsive, Affordable

Ive used Mike The Gas Man multiple times over the last 15 years. He has always been great - quick to respond, quick to get the work done, flexible with your schedule, shows up when he says he will, and does excellent quality work.

On one job where we were changing the gas hookup for a new bbq and needed to buy a longer hose than the one that came with it, he advised us where to get one cheaper than he could supply. He then bought the un-needed too-short one off of us, making the project even more affordable.

Where he really shone was on our most recent project that involved coordinating with the gas company to move our gas meter. (the gas company will move the meter, but not hook it back up to the house.) Working with the gas company was a scheduling nightmare. Mike was calm, flexible, and was able to give me a heads-up for what to actually expect, as opposed to what the gas company told me.

Some examples: the gas company wanted to book a Friday afternoon appointment. Mike told me they are always 4 hours late, so change it to a morning appt. They were 4 hours late. Mike was relaxed about this.

When they showed up 4 hours late, there was no parking spot directly in front of my house. (They didnt tell me they needed one.) They said they would be back the next day. Mike told me they would not be there, to expect it to be at least 3 days, and if it were summer, it might be weeks, and to keep him posted. He was right.

The whole project was like this. In every way that the gas company was unreliable and infuriating, Mike was equally flexible, reliable, knowledgeable, and wonderful to work with. I recommend him unconditionally.

Great service

I found Mike on google. I needed to disconnect the old gas stove in the kitchen, and to conceal or remove a gas pile on the second floor. Mike dud these jobs quickly. In the process he found that the exhaust gas pipe from the laundry dryer has been disconnected and broken. He fixed that problem for me too. I am very glad that he did that for me.

BBQ hook up

Mike is unprofessional and dishonest. He cut off the line to our gas fireplace and used to hook up BBQ. I called several months later realizing the gas fireplace doesn’t work. He said he would come by to fix. He drove up to our house as promised and then drove sped away. When asked why he didn’t show he said he had a flat tire and he would return the next day. The following day I called and he said he was in the hospital and would be there several weeks. He did not stand by his error. We paid another $500 to get the problem fixed.

Mike is an honest, amazing professional who was a joy to work with

Mike was amazing. My electric range died and I need someone to run a gas line to the kitchen, something like 40'. Mike came out and gave me a quote for what it would cost to install the line on the exterior of the house. During this process he was professional: prompt and knowledgeable. He was also 40% less than the other dozen quotes I got. I told him I needed 3/4" line due to the length and that bumped his quote up $1/foot. It bumped everyone else's quote by $10/foot.

When Mike did come on site to do the job, he spent the first 45 minutes looking at what we had and speaking with us about our concerns. With more complete information he came up with a superior solution that was both safer AND cheaper. He was just great. A total pro and a joy to work with.

Replace Gas line to dryer & replace copper gas line in basement

Mike responded quickly and gave a very reasonable quote for some work in my basement: replacing about 15 ft section of copper pipe that was carrying NG to my fireplace, and installing about 10 ft NG pipe to a new location for my gas dryer. Work was done quickly and as requested.
