Recently I bought 900sq of Natural Red Oak from Image Floor, I am very pleased with the product, the quality and the craftsmanship of the wood really shows. I could not be happier with the purchase and I would recommend this company to anyone

Couple years ago in 2013 I bought a house. The main floor hardwood had some scratches from a dog and I wanted to get rid of the carpet on the 2nd floor and get hardwood there. Looked around and finally settled on "Image Floor Coverings" in Scarborough. (http://www.imagefloor.ca). The owner "Jay" came to my house and sounded really knowledgeable and said that he can varnish the main floor and 60% of the scratches would be gone. So he varnished the main floor and installed hardwood on the 2nd floor. The guys he sent to work looked immigrants who couldn't even speak/understand english. That aside, after the varnish I had bubbles everywhere all across the main floor. I showed it to him and his guys applied another coat, same bubbles again. So finally after much back and forth and the fact I held the last portion of the payment he agreed to sand the hardwood and varnish again. This time I still had bubbles but they were liveable and because I was sick of all the mess I decided enough is enough and lived with the outcome.

After a year the varnish started to peal, another professional said its a cheap varnish and not thick enough to cover the joints between the wood planks. Also my hardwood upstairs started to get cupping that started from the middle of the house and then all across even though I kept humidity controlled up to 40%-60% all year round and kept running dehumidifiers in the summer. Callled Jay again for cupping issue on the 2nd floor and he wouldn't reply, kept calling for months and nothing, even though they say if you install our product through us they give 25 years warranty. Finally decided to post this so that others don't ever use Image Floor Coverings.

Dealing with this company was a complete nightmare from day one. Midway I terminated the job. I live in a condo building and how they disrespected the building and my home was despicable. I had to put down a $500 deposit for any potential damages that may incur...the building kept the deposit. The state they left the unit was unliveable for 5 days (even with the knowledge that there was another person living in the space). I had to pay, again, out of pocket for him to stay elsewhere.
Not only was the lack of professionalism a major issue, the quality of work was unquestionably appalling. The stairs that were installed were a complete different color than the floor (with 2 steps a completely different wood therefore a different staining pattern). The new floors they laid have 5 major gashes. The ceiling they drywalled and plastered was something that would resemble a 5 year old paper mache project. The "certified" electrician that represented this company felt it was appropriate to create his own electrical panel by using different parts (the breakers were a different company than the box, etc.) and even forgetting to ground anything. Very, very dangerous. The tiles that were laid, there are about 6 that are so raised that slippers should be worn at all times now when entering the kitchen for fear of slicing a toe. Believe it or not, there's more.
Everything they touched turned into an unfinished disaster. With no apologies from Jay...actually not even a word from him. The contractor that I have now has even reduced his fee drastically because he can't believe how terrible the quality of work done and how this company has treated me and my home.
Stay Away!!!!

What can I say? Image did a great job on my house reno project, and were friendly thru & thru, both in-store and at the job site (my home)

I have to admit i was a bit sceptical after skimming through negative feedback left online, however I have to say my experience left me feeling completely elated.

All in all I give Image a 9/10 (no one's perfect :)) but yeah definitely got a great deal.
