Countertop for nonstandard cabinets
We wanted new quartz tops for our kitchen cabinets and began, after a few quotes, dealing with a different, well established, company. Eventually we gave up on them because they could give convincing technical advice about needed reinforcing. Planet Granite was helpful in selecting the material (excellent advice, large sample pieces), but the main advantage was that it was actually their highly experienced installer who came to do the templating. He could answer all our questions and because they use on-site cardboard templating we were certain of a good fit. (The modern laser ranging / CAD systems are probably fine most of the time, but I'm the kind of guy who likes to be able to check and they wouldn't provide a detailed drawing.)
The reason we're most glad of switching is that the first company insisted that our countertop required a seam to enable installation. Planet Granite easily managed without, and we're very happy as a result.
When our project got reset we changed up to a significantly higher grade quartz than we had previously considered, and therefore don't have direct cost comparisons between Planet Granite and competitors. If they're more expensive my opinion is they're worth it for the great service.
