Front Porch Repair

[DO NOT RECOMMEND] Contractors Masonry recently "completed" work on our front porch slab about 5.5 feet by 10 feet. After two months of work we are left with a porch that slopes towards our house and a failed inspection which was ruled defective and advised to replace completely. Mario justified the work despite the failed inspection, water leaking in through walls in two locations, and rebar/nails sticking through bottom of the slab in the cold room below. Mario did on a few occasions admit that work was done poorly and he was not happy with it but again despite a failed inspection said it was just cosmetic issues. Mario said he had solutions to fix some of the problems but would only do so for additional money on top of the extra $800 he was already asking for to repair damages made when they nailed the form in to the block wall and raised it up. On top of the clear structural mistakes throughout the project there was little communication on when workers were coming and several days when I was told workers would be present and I stayed home and then they didn't show up. Workers left cement on my red brick wall, front door, and stones. Clear lack of professionalism and respect were shown over the two months. Ultimately Mario demanded final payment and threatened to enter the property and start removing items that had been completed. 100% do not recommend working with this company.

Company Response

Kyle, again your motivation to harm me and my reputation is pretty shocking. You come to these places when all else has failed and there is no resolution and no responses. In this case I offered to resolve and complete my work and you were more kean on coming here to share your experiance. Not sure how this resolves the issues. While I concede that a better and neater job could have been done, I'm really taking the flack for another adult who's crawling around out there ducking his responsiblities. In any case I'm taking responsiblity. You are enjoying the porch as we speak and a new aluminum railing to boot. While most of what we are talking about is cosmetic and easily improved upon, none of it is structural otherwise you wouldn't be out using your porch. I made my self available to you through out the whole process from start to end responding to your texts and phone calls, you still decided to air your greviances here in public instead of working towards a resolution that I offered and suggested. Holes on the wall precisely at concrete level have nothing to do with me. However I offered to repair at no additonal charge as a good will gesture and as a tradeoff. You decided to go this rout instead. How does this fix your issues? Payment to be made upon services rendered, means you have a responsiblity to pay...no demand. There is no profits realized here, just costs covered and you ultimately enjoying a porch I built for you.The $800 was for additional services provided that were not on original agreement. The additional work to clean up and correct some of the imperfections and make this right would have been at my expense. You spoiled that by showing bad judgement, lying and acting in bad faith.

Good day
