GNI visited my home 3 times this month, and there were problems all 3 times. Beyond frustrating and disappointing...
1) While removing existing blown-in fiberglass insulation, GNI vacuum hose tore from the waste bag in the disposal bin (they do not use self contained trucks - you have to pay for a rental disposal bin). The result? 1960s attic insulation falling from the sky like snow all around my property and that of my neighbour's.
Clean-up was not complete and not satisfactory. I had to clean up after GNI left.
2) While blowing in R60 cellulose, GNI badly damaged (completely tore off) an attic air conditioning hose that was fully sealed and screwed into the vent which vents into our family room, resulting in the R60 cellulose flowing into our family room. They also totally buried the air handler in insulation, despite being asked to stay clear of the air handler and not get any insulation on it at all.
3) When GNI returned to clear a pathway from the attic air handler to the damaged vent / hose so that the HVAC crew could repair the GNI damage, GNI only completed half of the required work they were hired to do; they only cleared 10 out of the 20 necessary ft.
HVAC crew arrived to repair the GNI damage but were unable to complete the repair, for a second time, because of GNI.
It has also been very difficult to get a hold of GNI office workers for scheduling, etc. Phones often not answered and voicemails often not returned.
We are completing extensive home renovations and have been working with numerous companies (electrical, hvac, general contractor, plumbing, etc) and everyone has been great, except GNI, I am truly disappointed and beyond frustrated with the customer service when trying to address these grievances.
If you go with GNI, I hope you have a better experience.
GNI office staff have refused to provide me with phone numbers or emails of Managers so I am writing this review in hopes that someone at GNI will see it and become aware of these issues so that as a company, they can make the necessary improvements and prevent future headaches and frustration for their clients.
