Installation of new railings and pickets
We had about 30 feet of wood handrails and powder coated steel pickets installed in our home. The quality of the products was great but the service was HORRIBLE! I paid a deposit and agreed to get an email copy of receipt of payment. That was a huge mistake. After at least a week of constant phonecalls and my husband believing that they had just taken off with the money, I finally got a receipt. They told us it would take 4 weeks to order the supplies and then another week so they could send it out to be powder-coated. After more than 5 weeks I had to call them because they hadn't contacted me. I picked an installation date and waited around all day for them to show up. I called the phone number (which is just the assistant's cell number who didn't know anything about the business) multiple times wondering where they were and the assistant kept telling me that they had just left. Obviously she was not being truthful. Eventually at around 5:00 pm, the guy shows up by himself and tells me he can't install them today because it was too late. I was furious. He told me he would work on Saturday. I told him to come back at 10:00 am. He didn't show up until around 1:00 pm. He installed most of the pickets and handrail but he didn't bring enough material to finish the job! He said that he had the stock on hand and it would only take another week before he could install it. After he left and my husband cleaned up the sawdust and mess, we found multiple SCRATCHES and GOUGES in our brand new hardwood floors!!! Three weeks and constant phonecalls later (they will never call you to keep you informed, you have to call them), we scheduled a installation date. That date came and they asked to reshedule to later that week. That day came and he didn't show up until 6:00 pm. We paid them $100 less because of the scratches that he wouldn't repair. After he finished we're finding little things everywhere. He installed one of the pickets UPSIDE DOWN so it doesn't line up with the rest (it's too late to change it now because everything is glued in). He also mounted the handrail on brackets that weren't powder coated so they are RUSTING and we will have to replace it. At this point, we never want to hear from them again so we'll just do that replacement ourselves. Other than that the the quality of the work is actually pretty good but the STRESS and FRUSTRATION of dealing with them far outweighs the work.
