Apartment flood

My partner and I had a pipe break and flood our apartment, and the insurance company got CRDN to come in a clean all the textiles that were damaged from the flood. we had nothing but issues from them, they ruined several articles of clothing and such by cleaning them incorrectly, as well as telling us that our textiles were going to cost $11,000 to clean. They contacted us with the quote amount and told us that if we wanted to stop the process and re-evaluate what was going to be cleaned that we could. We responded an hour later that we would like to stop the process and go through our belongings to help lower the costs, ( as we were trying to keep our policy limits in mind,) and even scheduled a time where we could come in. we received an email the next day saying that they had already cleaned everything, too bad, so sad. Because of this, we had very little money to be able to replace everything we had lost, and had to fight with CRDN and our insurance company to re-examine the bill, which they found was largely discrepant. We are incredibly upset with the service, treatment of items and everything to do with the entire experience. They ignored our attempts to get in touch with them, including emails and voicemails. I will never recommend this company to anyone and i would highly recommend going elsewhere.

Fire & Water Restoration of Clothing

We had our clothing and soft items taken away by them and dry cleaned. At the start, it was a horrible experience to see your house with fire damage. We didn't realize the process of what was going to happen to our things. CRDN came a few hours after the fire and acted quickly. They took all the items, labelled them, and handled them with care. The only thing I would suggest to the company employees is to inform the residents of the home what would happen to the clothes from the start and not after they had taken them away. If they had told me all the clothes will be taken away within 24hrs so go run into the home and get ALL the stuff you need for the next few months, I wouldn't be frustrated and irritated after the fact. We only grabbed three days of clothes and therefore had to purchase much of our wardrobe in the intermediary while the house is being restored. They were considerate to grab additional clothing that thought we might need and process them stat, but I would have preferred to choose the clothes myself because many of the ones they picked didn't fit myself and family members.

Approximate cost of services:
$5,000.00
What could this company do to improve their services?
Better inform the clients the process of the fire & water damage restoration. ie) "This is what is going to happen, so do this before everything gets taken away."
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Grab a suitcase and fill it with a few weeks of clothes you think you'll need.
