Went for Action Furnace based on flyers and reviews. Some reviews are good and some are bad. Should have listened to the bad ones. Estimate was off. Gave me an under-powered AC unit and asked me to run 24 hours? Typical Alberta nights (summer) are still around 15 - 20C. Why 24 hours and who's paying the bills? Unit cannot cool from 25C to 22C in more than 5 hours? Expect to keep the house in 22C in days of 30C? I don't think so. Installation was bad. Sent 2 new guys out, spent 11 hours instead of 6. Walked away without putting in enough refrigerant and some work areas not cleaned. Next guy came a week after and put in refrigerant, and the house is still not cool. Another guy came and said AC is working its best, just not cool enough. Asked me to upgrade the furnace for another $6000? So they would 'fix' the AC for free? I spent $4200 already for an AC that my kitchen fridge would do a better job. Ridiculous.
Some credits deserved though. They are good in low estimates. Gave me a smaller AC unit quote so other quotes with proper size would cost more? Workmanship is not bad, just cleaning up and took twice the amount of time. After sales call response are prompt, but can do nothing when the unit is way under powered.
Have yet to warn co-workers and friends not to go with Action Furnace now. Hope Calgary folks had better luck with them.
