I used to buy everything at this store but quality and customer service has declined drastically. I recently made a large purchase and it was a disaster and I had a terrible time getting it resolved and as of the date writing this review it was still not resolved. I will never buy anything so much as a nail at this store ever again.

We buy a lot of items from the Port Hope Home hardware

Some small and big and always get the NICE FRIENDLY HELP WE NEED!!!

They go out of there way to get that item you need or have it the very next day.

Can't say we get the same help or customer service from the Cobourg stores.

As a recent widow and a new resident of Port Hope, it has been very comfortable to be able to shop at such a cordial and pleasant shop. I'm not normally very familiar with hardware stores, per se, since it was my husband who traditionally attended to those sort of things, but the staff both male and female at this particular Home Hardware are friendly and cooperative and never make me feel like a dumb female. They are understanding and very helpful and the name Home really does apply in this case because that's what it feels like.
