The guys were courteous, friendly, and knowledgable. They did a great job on our trees, and were quite fast, as well. My only complaint (and it's very small) was that they didn't shape one of the trees all that well -- it looked a bit lopsided. But I noticed it too late -- had I noticed at the time, I'm sure they would have fixed it. Well done, and thank you!

How this works is Steve comes out to discuss the required work and then writes up an estimate for the work. With my experience,
he provided a day rate of $1600 to complete a variety of work on my property. The crew turned up at 9am and left by 2pm. When I called to get the price pro-rated - they simply reduced it by $200. In addition, I wasn't told that they do not remove roots of the shrubs that I hired them to remove - I only found out when I went to inspect the work and noticed the stumps. When I questioned them, they said that this was not part of their service - I feel I should have been told this upfront. They then suggested that I pay a landscaper separately to do this.

I generally did not like my experience with the Glenwood crew. Whenever I questioned parts of work that didn't get done - the response from the crew was 'It's not in the work order' eventhough I had discussed it with Steve prior.

To be fair, the crew turned up on the day they were supposed to and cleaned up when they were done. I was not impressed with their pruning and I don't feel that I can trust Glenwood as I felt short-changed when they left.

They provided us with one of the more affordable quotes to remove the young black walnut in our backyard, but they did a great job. They provided us with a prompt estimate and cleaned up the area well. No issues whatsoever!

I had three companies quote the trimming of a 60 year old tree on my front lawn. Two companies gave very high quotes on trimming, and one of those companies said the tree could thrive with some intense fertilization. Steve, from Glenwood was the only one recommended taking the tree down. As you can imagine, a 60 year old tree is very large, and we were concerned about the possibility of the tree coming down on the house. We were also concerned about a hole at the base of the tree and another one part way up the truck. After some consideration, we proceeded with Glenwood, and we are so glad we did.

The crew was very professional and friendly, and had the tree completely down in about 4 hours. The entire main trunk was 80 per cent rotten, so who knows how long the tree would have remained standing. One week after the removal of the tree, the crew returned to grind the stump.

I am very pleased with the service I received from Glenwood, and I highly recommend them.

Let me just say that if you are considering having a tree removed... check the references! At first, I opted for the cheapest of 3 quotes and ended up paying for it by having the first contractor drop the top canopy of the tree onto my house, twice!. I had to fire them and then call back Glenwood who I should have hired in the first place. Trust me when I say these guys are professionals. Showed up the first day with WSIB forms and Insurance papers. The tree in my back yard was difficult to get at because it was between the inground pool and the house. Glenwood had it down in 45 minutes! The other contractor who I fired sat and looked at this tree for 45 minutes trying to figure out how to take it down safely after I yelled at them for dropping the top canopy of the tree on my house! Don't mess around with tree removal, call the experts. Glenwood saved me and I would be more than happy to be a reference for them any day. To top things off, Glenwood didn't send me an invoice for almost a month. Top notch company.
