Westside Windows & Doors

It started with the Bay window. We moved into our home during a snowy week in Dec 2005 and Dougs crew were fantastic getting all the work done as scheduled. As a result of the success of the Bay window we chose Westside to supply our new patio slider (Kolbe) and once that was done we were so very happy with it there was only one company to consider for our new living room windows! We had recently purchased $5000 worth of shutters and making custom Windows to accommodate them was key because we were not throwing the shutters away to get a window. Doug spent lots of time measuring and planning and bottom line is they did it again!!

I cannot begin to tell you how impressed I am with Westside Windows and Doors. From Doug (the president of the company) to Stephen (installer) to Tanya (admin) they were all amazing.

I purchased a 20-year old home and was looking at renovating. Initially I thought I would be replacing all of the windows in the house. Doug came by to have a look and provide an estimate, which he did on time and without issue. As it turns out, I decided not to do all of the windows owing to budget and other considerations. Doug came back a second time and we spent two hours walking through the house talking about all of the different options and considerations that I would never have thought of, but are important when you decide to replace your windows.

Doug passed on my details to Tanya and we went through various pricing options, and only when I was totally satisfied with my choices did they ask me to confirm the order and pay a deposit. Then Doug came to my house a third time with the person he was actually intending to perform the installation (Stephen). Both of them took their time to measure and re-measure every aspect of the main living room window since it's size and shape was anything but conventional. Once they were all set the order was placed with the manufacturer.

Schedule was really important to us and this is where their focus on putting the customer first really came through. Initially the anticipated install date was the third week in October. However, after the order was put in the manufacturer (Kohltech) discovered a particularly difficult piece to fabricate could not be done at their facility in Edmonton. As a result the order was transferred to the Kohltech facility in Montreal, with a serious impact on the delivery timeframe.

Once I became aware of the supposed month delay I simply contacted Doug to let him know. From that point on I did not have to say or do anything. Doug totally took over and liaised directly with the senior people at Kohltech. He asked that my order be expedited and then couriered back to Calgary and that he would pay the extra cost, which he did not even attempt to pass on to me.

Once things were back on track my 2-day install job turned into a single day because Doug wanted to be sure his team had everything done in time to not impact other other trades still working on other parts of the renovation. So instead of one team, he sent two. One did the major main floor replacements and the second team did the bedroom replacements upstairs.

Everyone arrived promptly, worked hard, finished on time and did a fantastic job, including clean-up. I could not be more satisfied with their work and my dealings with Westside. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

In fact, because I had to delay the replacement of all windows in my house they will be the only company I call in the coming few years as I continue the replacement of the rest on a staged basis.
