Pave Guard

Researched and chose this company based on positive BBB rating and reasonable price. Drive was ripped out on July 14, paid half up front. Was advised that paving would occur by beginning of September. After 4 calls and four promises to show up, driveway was still not paved by October 15th. Finally got action when I emailed Alan and threatened BBB complaint and small claims court. Pave Guard showed up a few days later, as night was falling and did job in the dark.
Results? Driveway is finally paved. It has some ridges and uneven areas. We shall see how it holds up over the winter. Not impressed with this company's response time, follow-up or excuses. Hopefully I will not need to contact them to return for warranty work, as I doubt I can count on their follow-through.

I signed a contract with Pave-Guard (Danny) to do an overlay of asphalt on my driveway, then in October (Louie) tells my husband they cant do the work on my driveway for the price given to us because of the condition of my driveway. we agreed that my deposit will be returned to me and possibly call them back next year if I decide with the new quote given to me, soooo here We are almost in December and I keep getting the run around, This company has not returned my deposit of $625. I reported them to the better business bureau and they're playing to the BBB like they just heard about this. As well one of the workers called my husband the next day after my report to the BBB and said if i don't take my post down from the BBB Ill never see my deposit money. They claim there worker has my money and has now decided to take a vacation to Florida so he's no where to be found. The worker was hired by the company so he is their responsibiltiy. I'm not taking any of my posts down and if i have to, I will take them to court ( this company violated section 10 of the consumers act regulation as well as my lawyer informed me I can contact the police and have the company charged with fraud. I also called the Government (ministry of consumers Canada) and this company is registered on a buyers beware list, I have a contract with proof of conversations and a signed contract with this company! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!! please anyone out there be-careful when giving them your money, you may never see it again and with no driveway done!

The work was don on time, and the customer service David and Sal provided was pleasant and curtsey. I had a few areas on the driveway that they were not welling to attend to. If It was not for my next door neighbour that brought these areas to the labors attention. With out his assistants the job would not have been completed as well as it did.That's why I have rated them a 3.

Had Louis knock on my door, did a follow up and then signed the deal. Good price with many neighbours getting paved. Was told they work from oakville to Pickering and everything in between. Would definitely recommend, sales guys very knowledgable.

Found this company in home flyers they didn't want any deposit till work finished- made me more comfortable. Work was done rite- in time. They know their thing- strongly recommended. Charles- east york

David was courteous and profesional.The old driveway removal crew did a nice job and added crushed limstone leveling it and compacting it by machine and by hand were the machine could not.The paving crew worked well together as a team.The interlock work was well done with the proper grading for slope and drainage.David helped us choose the right stone for the look we wanted.All three crews were couteous and cleaned up after the job.The pricing was in line with other quotes we got.

We were pleased with all aspects of the job! Everything from arriving at the time they said they would to the care of installation and quality of the work itself. When faced with a too narrow entry for their machine, they completed the project by hand (at no additional cost). They were knowledgeable and helped to ensure our grading issue was addressed (incl recommending a catch basin to account for additional run off). We would not hesitate to recommend Pave Guard or to use them again for future projects!

This company paves driveways the right way. They put down crushed stone first and wait several weeks for it to harden before laying the asphalt. The surface is solid and has not shown any sinking even though a car is parked on it all the time. They did leave some tar on my garden stones that had to be removed.
