Beware!
What looked and sounded promising turned out to be a nightmare. After paying Alex the deposit he showed up the next day for measurements and was very quick, which made me think he was going to be as quick and proficient with his work. Unfortunately it took a century to finally have him back at our house to do the job (only half of it, as we decided on a different design and I didn't want him to do the whole staircase). Between the deposit and installation day it was almost impossible to get a hold of Alex as it seems like he takes on way more work than he can handle. Once he rudely told my wife on the phone that she was interrupting his work for an important client. Last time I checked we paid him with real money, just like everybody else. And mind you, he is not that cheap. But the best was yet to come. After the railing was installed Alex and his helper left a whole lot of adhesive residue on my new hardwood floors. He also told me that the best way to route a groove in the floor (to hold the glass) was to screw down the guide to my floors so the router doesn't move. I unfortunately agreed to it. He screwed the guide in two places. Now I have one hole that Alex didn't fill in and he broke the other screw and it is still sticking out of the floor. I can go on for a long time about what is wrong with this guy, like that he didn't have enough rags and I had to find more for him, he ran out of adhesive and had to go and buy more and he had to borrow a glue gun from my contractor that was doing some other work in the house.
I texted him a number of times prior to writing this review giving him a chance to come back and fix his mistakes but he never replied to me. One more thing, and it's an alarming one- he demands the full payment PRIOR to installation. I wish I never agreed to that.
P.S My contractor finished the other half of the railing for much cheaper and it looks amazing!
