Took our money then went missing
*Update: after posting this review we got a call from the company and a few weeks later the iron fence, railing and gate was installed.*
In August 2015 we got a quote for a railing and fence. We gave the go-ahead for the project, then in good faith mailed a $1,000 deposit cheque so the custom iron work could be ordered. The rest of the money was to be paid upon completion. Dufferin iron cashed our check November 6. It is now March 2016 and after repeated calls to Oliver on the status of our job we find our calls not returned, Oliver repeatedly answering and saying he'll call back in 10 minutes with the status of the job and then never calling back. We have never been in this position before but are now looking into getting a lawyer to get our money back as its apparent this job is bogus. Beware this company.

The end to this story is----- a well done job that the client was very happy with and they paid the balance of the project without hesitation.
Somewhere between the initial contact, design changes, location changes---a serious of unfortunate events, the ball got dropped. Its hard to maintain a perfect record with thousands of installs over 45 years.
That being said, people have a right to their opinion----therefore we are on this forum. Ironically, we pay to have the right to have our customers critique us. That in itself shows the Company's integrity. It would be an even more interesting forum if we could start a column of clients for all contractors to be leery of for more reasons than I care to mention-----present company accepted!!
To finalize----Dufferin Iron has never absconded with anyones funds----and generally speaking we only ask for substantial deposits in extreme cases.!In closing, this only inspires us to remain more diligent in meeting the needs of our clientele.
