My husband and I have been very pleased with our new Parkwood dream home. It's like living in a hotel! The very first impression from their show home was that they use good quality materials and the customer service was great. Huge shout-out to Kim, our former Sales Rep. She was amazing to work with! There was a long delay with having the basement poured due to rainy weather last year. We feel that even though it was frustrating at times, Parkwood worked quickly with the trades to finish our home. They always apologized for the delay and we knew they were working to get things moving along. We didn't want them to rush and miss something. They waited for the good quality trades to be ready and this is to be admired. Any issues, both big and small, have been dealt with professionally and to our satisfaction. If you are going to build a new home, be patient. Rarely are they ever completed on time as there are conditions out of the builder's control that arise that can hold up the process. This is the biggest lesson we've learned. We would recommend Parkwood Master Builder without a doubt!
- Approximate cost of services:
- $600,000.00
- What could this company do to improve their services?
- Parkwood seems to be top-heavy at times. Communication between all levels could be improved. Have buyers visit every supplier to ensure selections are going to be up to the buyers' expectations. Having two finishing packages makes the process so much easier. We liked the selection at the design centre - not to much or too little.
- Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
- Research the size of the company and how many projects they take on in a year. This will give you an idea of the quality to expect. Read all of the fine print! Visualize your project all the way to completion and think about the little things that could pop up during the process. Take every opportunity to visit the site and ask questions if something seems off. You may not have another chance to change things. Be proactive.
