Furnace troubleshooting and maintenance
Note: We are Spring Home customers, having incurred their services to replace the old furnace and AC several years ago. We just surpassed the warranty period.
We started to have issues with our furnace blowing cold air only. Refused to ignite, would cycle and eventually go into lockout mode. Called Cheryl and booked an appointment. She was pleasant to deal with over the phone. On the first visit (paid), the HVAC tech, Justin, diagnosed the problem to a faulty thermostat. I had a backup thermostat so I replaced it myself with his guidance. Originally, it would trip on the flame sensor so that was cleaned by him. A week went by and the same issue popped up. Called Cheryl again and asked for Justin to come by and check. She sent someone the same day. On this second visit (paid), burners were found not to be igniting properly so that was cleaned. He also recommended general maintenance, something that we haven't done in years.
So we eventually booked an appointment for maintenance, knowing that we would have to fork over some more $. We kindly asked for a discount as this would be a third paid visit. Justin had to call Cheryl who then spoke to the manager/owner, George. To our surprise, he was kind enough to go above and beyond and offer the maintenance free of charge.
All in all, we are very pleased with the service. Looking forward to seeing you guys in the Spring!
