When is a dryer not a dryer? When it's a new top-of-line Maytag purchased at Goeman's Appliances. Having never used a gas one before, I was blaming myself for only being able to get sporadic heat from it. One and one half weeks later, after being up until 2AM because I kept dozing off waiting for laundry to dry, I called for service. Service came four days later and informed me that my "dryer" had a defective part" that wasn't kept in stock. It was repaired 5 days later. Was I suppose to ask the installers to watch a 72 year old do 6 loads of accumulated laundry to make sure my "dryer" dried before they left, so I could use the lemon word? A dryer is called a dryer because it dries! Mine wouldn't because it couldn't! My calls to Goemans have been ignored and shuffled back and forth between 3 departments. Even the manager ignored my "detailed message that he'd listen to immediately on his arrival the next morning". After receiving no response by 2PM the next day, I was told he was in his office when I called again, but his phone eventually went to answering machine so I left another message. I feel I'm entitled to at least a 1 year free extended warranty to cover any further potential defects. "Goemans" has never contacted me, so it looks like "Glemons" sold me a lemon. They don't sell dryers!
