My wife and I were very impressed with the level of professionalism exhibited by Frontier Flooring. Combined with a genuine passion for their work, I would have to say this is one of the best contractors we have ever dealt with. They obviously take great pride in their Homestars rating and, not content to rest on their laurels, work hard to maintain and improve upon their reputation. We had other reputable companies in for estimates, and there was a noticeable difference in the level of knowledge, expertise and thoroughness and yet, Frontier's price was significantly lower. One well known company quoted us about 15% higher and they wanted us to hire a plumber to come in and remove and re-install our radiators.

We dealt mostly with estimator and on-site project overseer- Peter. His experience and expertise border on artisan qualities. We were also refacing our fireplace and installing a stone feature wall and, on advice from many others, had other contractors in first to complete this work. Before we had even committed to Frontier (we were still looking at other quotes) we called Peter while the stonework contractors were in to get his opinion on the kitchen sub-floor. He came over within 30 minutes. While he was here he began talking to the stonework contractors and it quickly became apparent that it was going to be difficult to do the stonework first (for instance they would have to "glue" the first layer of stone- free floating 1" above the exisiting floor and then build the floor up and underneath- not exactly ideal- structurally or aesthetically). It was quite apparent that when Peter was talking to the other contractors that he was in a league of his own- not only in expertise but his passion and commitment.

We went with Frontier and choose Mirage Maple Auburn. Our house is 80 years old- and the floors were original. This posed many challenging levelling problems. Peter's attention to detail and quality was truly remarkable and essential for an old home like ours. Even with all his experience- it was nice to see how excited he was in doing a good job and in beautifying our house. He had great ideas- like "reducers" at the feet of the radiators- which not only eliminated the need to remove the radiators but also make for a very nice architectural detail.

Our new floors make it seem like we have a brand new home.

An important note- after having the stoneworkers back in after the floors were installed- they had some stones fall and gouge our new floors. I called Frontier (Angelo and Frank) and they were very understanding. They immediately dispatched someone to come by and replace the damaged boards out of good will!!. Thanks to Frank, Rob, Angelo and Peter - we will recommend you to all our friends (and have already done so).

We love our new hardwood floors! Frank and the team at Frontier Flooring were amazing. From initial quote through to installation only 5 days later, everything was exactly as they promised. The floors are beautiful and make a HUGE difference to our home. As we were searching for flooring companies, we came across Frontier Flooring, who gave us a very competitive price for hardwood purchase and installation. After visiting the showroom and receiving excellent customer service by Angelo, we decided to have Peter in for measuring and a more formal quote. Soon after Vitale (with some help from Peter)came to install the hardwood. WE WERE IMPRESSED and extremely PLEASED at the speed, precision and workmanship. They made it happen in less than a week from the moment I stepped into their showroom. Frank in the showroom was highly informative and knowledgeable, and he was able to offer very competitive price. I contacted their office the very next morning when I had made up my mind, and Peter came down for measurements right away at 9AM for measurements in order to put in my orders before that afternoon (it needed to be shipped from Quebec). Peter was very professional and informative. Meeting Peter that day definitely beat away any doubts or anxieties that I had on my mind. On the day of the construction, workmen arrived as promised, and the work progressed hassle-free (trust me, I have worked with many contractors in the past, and it is very difficult to meet ones that don't shoot your stress levels off the roof). I was blown away with the degree of precision in their work (cork, molding, edges, etc, etc...). They kept the work area tidy throughout the whole process, and left my place spotless at the end. The end product was smooth and beautiful flooring throughout. I would recommend Frontier to anyone I know in a heartbeat and I would definitely to use them again for any future projects.

We took time to research the contractors for putting the new hardwood floor on the main floor and feel it was really worth it. Among 3 companies we eventually decided from, Angelo and his company stood out being perfect in all of the aspects in the process leading to hiring a contractor, had great service, competitive price in their category, but most importantly made us the most comfortable that they were going to do top quality work, without any hidden surprises. They provided written estimate in advance, answered all questions and helped us choose beautiful Vintage Venetian Brown Jatoba, which we were wery happy with how it fit our taste and our house. Once hired, they followed up with the delivery and installation without any delays and finished work even sooner than planned, but more importantly the quality of work was excellent. Overall, it was a pleasant and satisfying experience and we were extremely pleased with their work and service.

We wanted a Torly Cork Flooring in 2 rooms and we went to Frontier Flooring after reading reviews on this website. We were not disappointed. Frontier has a wide choice to offer.
Rob was our first contact. We spent a lot of time looking at the choices without any pressure from him. He was very helpful. He answered our questions and gave us samples to take home.
Peter came home to measure and he did a thorough job pointing out what would work well for the transitions.
We were happy with the installers. They worked hard, completed on time and cleaned up as they went.
Rob was both friendly and professional. He kept in touch throughout the project. After it was over, he called to find out if we were happy with the installation. He mentioned that what sets a business apart is the service before, during and after a project is taken up. He certainly stands by his word.

My husband and I checked out Frontier's showroom based on reviews on this website. Frank was our initial contact then everything switched to Angelo for some reason. We were very impressed with the information Frank initially gave us when we checked out the hardwood brands in the showroom. We maybe spent 1 1/2 hours there and we were given some samples and brochures to take home. Peter came out to measure our main floor. He was very thorough and he answered all of our questions. He recommended 2 1/4" hardwood since we have a long, narrow house. I did alot of research on the internet and we ultimately decided on the Mirage brand and we went with the 2 1/4" Red Oak in a Vienna cashmere (matte) colour. I can highly recommend the cashmere finish if you go with a darker colour of stain since it doen't show dust, marks etc., as much, even though their semi-gloss is much less shiny than other brands. We also had them score and remove the baseboards, underpad and carpet which is well worth it. It took Peter and Bob a couple of hours to do but it was worth the extra money. We couldn't believe the amount of dust etc., underneath from our builder. My husband spent four hours vacuuming it up. We had 520 square feet of flooring put throughout the main floor, other than in the entranceway, powder room, kitchen and breakfast nook. The Mirage brand seemed to be very straight and true. Vitaliy was our installer and he did an amazing detailed job. He is very old school in attention to detail, workmanship etc. We had one front stair tread, 2 risers, a nosing, plus a step down into the living room that required 2 nosings and risers underneath. The nosings, stair tread and risers were all custom made and they look amazing the way he installer them. Due to a mis-communication with the custom company the front stair tread was too short and had to be re-made which was no big deal. Vitaliy did an excellent job on the entire floor overall as well as the special areas just mentioned and we are extremely pleased with the quality of his work. Our tile areas were abit higher and he slightly angled the horizontal pieces next to the tile in the kitchen and bathroom, while also creating grooved edges to feed the individual boards into. He told me this is more time consuming so not alot of installers take this step but he takes great pride in his workmanship. It took him 2 1/2 - 2 3/4 days over two visits due to hold ups on some material. We also got flushmount wood floor vents stained to match which I can highly recommend. Vitaliy also used an industrial sander where necessary to sand our floor so it was level. Angelo was very good at answering questions but we often played phone tag. One board has a minor crack which Frontier will fix down the road when stock arrives. I did get another quotation for comparison from another authorized Mirage dealer and apples to apples their price was about 18% higher than Frontier. They are a smaller dealer though so they probably don't get the same volume discount on product, I imagine. The time frame from ordering to installation was about two-three weeks. Overall, our main floor looks completely transformed. We are thrilled with the final results and we would definitely hire Frontier Flooring again and I can highly recommend them!!!
