Woodchuck Flooring

Had to replace old carpet in the bedroom, bedroom closet and living room with vinyl tile. Additionally, needed to cover the current hallway tiling with the same vinyl tile selection. Very happy we chose Woodchuck Flooring to get this done for us, they don't disappoint! Supervisor Clinton delivered in the materials and kept us updated on the project details and timelines, while Zen did the installation work. It was a very well done project, perfect replacement and no issues with the flooring even one month after moving in. Appreciated how they kept true to their word on the timeline and have to thank Zen for the extra advice I asked regarding crown moulding (plaster rather than wood) which came in really handy a few weeks later. I bought Torlys vinyl plank flooring from Woodchuck and had them install it in my condo, replacing the existing laminate flooring. The space they redid is around 500 sq ft, with 2 closets, a den and a general living room / dining room area.

The head of the crew of subcontractors left after one and a half hours, and didn't return until a half hour before the job was finished. The three people who remained did most of the work. From start to finish, it took them about 6 hours, including the removal of the existing flooring. I didn't understand how they could have finished so early until I saw their work.

They left a screw under a plank, causing it to gape at the edge. They left broken pieces of planking underneath the flooring in two other areas, causing bulging in the flooring. They dropped coloured glue from a transition piece onto the bedroom carpet, staining it. A door frame was broken. Most of the nails used to install the shoe molding protruded. There were significant holes (some 2 inches in length) in the drywall and in a bathroom door, and these were at eye level or above, not below where minor surface damage from the installation process might be expected.

The project manager said prior to installation the concrete floors had been levelled well. Vinyl planks were installed on top of 6 mil poly, as per Torlys' specifications. The completed floor is "crunchy" in multiple areas, sounding like paper is being crushed underneath when the floor is walked upon. I contacted the manufacturer, who said that there shouldn't be any sound coming from the floor. The installer says the floor should settle with time and not remain so noisy.

A month after the installation, the floor has grown quieter. The deficiencies noted above have been rectified, with the damaged bedroom carpet being replaced by Woodchuck. While the initial flooring installation was highly problematic, the post-installation repairs were done well. I thank Clinton and the other staff at Woodchuck for their follow-through and professionalism in ensuring customer satisfaction.

Woodchuck refinished my 25 year old
Red Oak floors. Nik and Harold did an amazing job. They sanded off an opaque pastel stain to reveal beautiful knot free wood underneath. When they applied the medium toned weathered oak stain, all the different colors and grain in the wood were revealed for an overall very mellow look. They also replaced my
quarter round with a really nice white primed shoe mould and were very careful not to scratch the baseboards, so that I won’t have to paint right away. I have to say the baseboards look way better now than what I had before. Clinton and Mike are very knowledgeable about flooring and I learned a lot about my floors just by talking to them, and they were
very patient during the stain selection process which is very important. I have already talked to Clinton about my next project which will probably be the stairs. I strongly recommend Woodchuck for a professional job.

I visited the woodchuck flooring showroom in Scarboroughultiple times taking with me samples each time until we were confident in our choice. Woodchuck was very patient and provided tips and advice along the way.
Once we picked our flooring, it was in their warehouse within two weeks. We also decided to go with the matching airwoods vent - they had a floor vent made using the exact material of our floors. It was a perfect match.
Installation day was seemless, we prepped the space ourselves and the installers came and did their thing is less than a day. We are very happy with our new floors!

We needed to install engineered hardwood on our basement landing and remove carpeting from our upstairs hallway and replace it with hardwood.
