I have receintly bought several items for our kitchen and recommended Unionville Appliance to friends. Can't say enough about their old fashioned type of good honest Business.

I had one of the worst experiences dealing with this repair shop. They are either incompetent or all about bottom line - either way I would never deal with them ever again. They not only misdiagnosed (service guy never touched his toolbox just 'guessed' at what problem could be) but they were going to do all these unnecessary repairs to parts which were working perfectly. I didn't get a good feeling about it so I called real professionals who were honest & the problem was fixed without any additional cost. I saved myself hundreds of dollars in unnecessary part replacement & labor costs. The owner could care less. Be very careful when dealing with this company- they will rip you off & you won't even know it. Very sad to think there are companies like this out there taking advantage of people's trust & hard earned money.

I bought three appliances from them for a recent kitchen renovation. Two of them were scratch/dent (fridge and stove) and the dishwasher was out of the box, no defects. The prices for the s/d appliances were really good. No problems on delivery, they even removed and replaced the doors from the side by side fridge as it was too wide for the house entrance. I paid a little extra but of course it was worth it. My only beef with them is the fact that the chill drawer in the fridge came cracked at the back, despite being taped as the rest of the drawers. I called the office the same day of delivery and explained the situation to them. They said they'll contact me about it, but they never did. I admit I didn't follow up. I just sealed the crack with clear silicon and that was that. However, I don't like the fact that they never contacted me about this. It makes me feel uneasy in case of a potential serious warranty issue *knocks on wood*.

We bought several Appliances from Unionville at the end of 2013, when we renovated our kitchen. Everything was supposed to be new, nothing refurbished. One oven has been serviced 3 times. When we used the other oven it had oven cleaner in it, clearly it had been refurbished, as there is no reason to clean a new oven.

The biggest issue was the AirKing Exhaust vent which we paid over $1000 for. We noted that the fan was turning black around the light sockets; it took much trying and involvement from the manufacturer to get a new one installed. The new one was of lesser quality than the one we paid for (as confirmed by AirKing) and never worked right. Again, it took months to get this one picked up, with the involvement of the manufacturer; We ultimately bought a Bosch unit from Canadian Appliance and are thrilled with it. Even though Unionville Appliance promised us a full refund, It took several calls and when we finally got it it was minus a restocking fee! We get defective appliances from this company and they have the nerve to charge a restocking fee!

This company is long on promises, but very short on promises. I highly recommend not doing business with this company, unless you want trouble and very little sympathy from them.

Over the last 18 years we have used this company's services with great success. However, this week they outdid themselves! When our 3 year old front load washer bearing malfunctioned, Sal made a phone call and got the manufacturer to provide free (very expensive) parts even though it was past warranty.Our only cost was the labour. They go the extra mile!

I had a problem with my Thermador oven. I was able to diagnose the fault with information from the internet. I called Unionville Appliance and described the symptoms. They indicated that due to the size of the wall mounted oven, they would have to send out 2 people with a callout charge of $149. The two people who came were very courteous. They were unable to remove the oven from the wall as some trim had to be removed. However, after checking the symptoms, they had the same diagnosis, a probable fault with the sail switch. They said they would order the part and come back to complete the repair and asked me to remove the trim before their next visit. The callout charge would include subsequent visits. I was informed I would only be charged for the part and a standard fee for the installation of the part. Unionville Appliance called back 2 days later and said the wait time for the part was six weeks as there were none in stock in all of North America. I managed to source and purchase the part from an online retailer, and I received it 2 days later. I called Unionville Appliance and informed them that I had the part, but they refused to install it as they didn't supply it and could not provide a warranty for it. I did not need a warranty on the part, I just wanted it installed. The part was an official part from Bosch, the makers of Thermador. They reiterated that it would take 6 weeks to get the part and refused to refund any part of the initial callout fee. Unionville Appliance could have simply said that they make part of their profit from marking up the price of the part and I would have been happy to pay an additional amount. I just did not want to wait 6 weeks for my oven to be repaired.

Great advice by Sal who coached my through repairing my own dishwasher at the store and also by phone once the problem was found!(Even though I was a woman!) Very impressive!

Steve Martin was very helpful to us in the purchase of our washing machine and was willing to negotiate a price that was more workable for us, as our washing machine that we had previously was almost brand new but quit on us. He was patient, and was even willing to deliver it for a reasonable cost, although we ended up not going that route. We were also able to purchase some other parts that we needed for a different washing machine from them. They were knowledgeable and helpful in getting the correct parts.

I really like this company. They have repaired my 28 year old Maytag Washer and Dryer (only needed them a few times over the past 28 years as they told me how to replace the belts and sold it to me for a reasonable price). They just repaired my gas stove, which is over 10 years old. Everyone I have dealt with is friendly and efficient and the rates are very reasonable. All of this and the fact that they guide easy repairs over the phone gives them a perfect rating from me. I highly recommend them.

Great job!! showed up on time, satisfied with cost of repair, courteous servicepeople. Have used them in the past for a clothes washer purchase and install and couldn't have been more pleased with everything.
