We are a first time customer of Ultra Carpet and Flooring and we couldn't be happier with the results. Noor (the owner) and his installer Ray did an incredible job helping us install hardwood flooring in our new house.
We first came into contact with Ultra Carpet and Flooring after calling several dealers in Toronto listed on the website of the hardwood flooring manufacturer we were interested in (Satin Flooring). Ultra Carpet and Flooring had by far the best price in Toronto; almost 35% less than the highest quote we received.
Noor did an incredible job of listening to our project and provided sage advice at every step of the way, which helped us avoid making serious design mistakes. Our new house had existing vinyl flooring installed over older hardwood. Noor and Ray made a site visit prior to beginning the project and spent considerable time inspecting our house. They walked us through our various options (installing over the existing hardwood flooring or installing a new subfloor). They were very honest in their advice and helped us understand the costs/benefits of both approaches. Furthermore, the flooring was extremely sloped along one of the main walls where the previous owner had placed a very heavy wood-burning stove. This had caused the joist to settle somewhat causing a very noticeable slope in the floor (over 2 inches). Ray, when installing the subflooring, spend countless hours shimming up the flooring along two walls with incredible results. His remediation of this problem went way beyond what I thought was possible and is now unnoticeable.
During the flooring install, we asked Ray to install the hardwood flooring around a 4' x 3' stone slab we purchased as a hearthstone for our own fireplace. We consulted with Noor and Ray about this hearth and they made sure to work around our design. Needless to say Ray did a perfect job. The flooring runs exactly parallel to our hearthstone and the flooring is completely level with the stone.
We now have beautiful hardwood flooring running over our entire 1st floor. The effect is a seamless transition around hallways, a large stone slab, and in an older house with uneven walls. It looks incredible and it is thanks to Ray's hard work.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ultra Carpet and Flooring to anyone. We will definitely be a life-long customer. They cared deeply about our project, worked around our renovation schedule (we didn't have a general contractor so coordinated everything ourselves), offered by far the lowest prices we saw in Toronto and are extremely honest and pleasant people.
