Owner refuses to communicate

The reason for the low rating is completely due to the lack of communication from the owner of the Ottawa location. We moved in January within Orleans and the movers themselves were ok (quite a few smoke breaks and one of the three did very little). However, they ended up denting a brand-new door at our old house which they dismissed as "just a scratch". We contacted Verdun and they confirmed that most of the door would have to be replaced; the cost would be ~$900 which was almost as much as the move itself! Since our old house was already sold, we wanted to ensure the new owner had the door they expected to receive.

We immediately submitted the claim to TSM and, to give credit where credit is due, their Office Administrator was able to answer my emails promptly over the next three months. However, the owner (who I was repeatedly told would get in contact with me) has never called/emailed and the last I heard from the Office Admin was that the file was closed. They are not registered with the BBB in Ottawa so it seems unlikely there is any chance for recourse.

From the other reviews on this site, it seems like they are mostly a great company; we just had an unfortunate and frustrating experience when it came to making a claim.

In response to the company's response, damaging a brand-new door and then claiming it can be fixed when the manufacturer has inspected it and says it requires replacement panels is akin to a layperson telling someone with a broken arm that it can be "fixed with just a splint". It's up to the expert (doctor, door manufacturer, etc.) to decide what needs to be fixed and how.

The lady I spoke with while booking my move was very polite, took her time, and listened to my needs. I did not feel rushed and felt like a customer and not just a number. When the guys showed up on my moving date, they introduced themselves, took a walk through and explained how the moving day would go. They asked if I had any special instructions or anything in particular I needed from them. They took apart all my furniture at no extra charge! This made transporting everything so much easier, and the best part, they put it back together for me. They were a SPECTACULAR crew! If you are looking for GREAT movers, give Two Small Men a call. I called for this service 1 week before moving . it was a quick move and the packing had to be done as well. They sent 3 men, they arrived on time, were friendly and very good at getting the packing and loading the truck and getting to my new address. I would definately recommend them to friends and family.

These guys were amazing! They were punctual, efficient, and careful in moving the contents of my one bedroom apartment to a storage unit. I have many antiques and they treated them as if they were their own. These two young men were friendly and professional, and I will use them for my next move!

I roughly move once a year with contract work all over Canada. I've had a lot of bad luck and paid a lot of big $$. I requested a quote with Two Small Men based on google reviews. They were the most affordable, customer service was excellent and they delivered ALL of my furniture within the quoted period. And for the first time everything arrived nothing was missing and nothing was damaged. The movers on both ends were very friendly and very hard working.
