Required a plumber to hook up a brand new faucet on a bathroom counter.
I called Priority Plumbing and was told that there would be a $49 service call whether they did the job or not. I asked what their hourly rate was and I was told there was no hourly rate. I found this odd but I also knew that the job of putting a faucet onto an already existing and hooked up water system would be straight forward and would take little time.
The gentleman that came was very nice, the girl on the phone was very nice. I could not believe that he quoted $750.00 to do the job. I had a master plumber come and do the job - he was in and out in 45 minutes - cost was $140.00. I HAD TO PAY THE $49 TO PRIORITY PLUMBING FOR THE SERVICE CALL. WHAT A RIP OFF - THEY MUST MAKE A BUNDLE JUST DRIVING AROUND THE CITY MAKING OUTRAGEOUS QUOTES AND COLLECTING $50 WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING.

- $750.00

Dawn,
Who ever you hired for $140.00 may have been licensed, but is he a "guy" or a company. The main difference is that there is no way you will be able to "consistently" rely on this "guy" when you need him most. A "guy" in a white van and a toolbox hardly can compare to the benefits to dealing with us. Is his work guaranteed? Will it leak and if so will he honor the guarantee? For how long? Is he available 24 hours a day? Is he insured if something happens while working in your home? Does he keep records of your work for future reference? If the work was extensive, does he offer flexible payment options? How long does he warranty parts? Our work is guaranteed for life, we offer same day service, hire only the best plumbers in Toronto and are fully insured. Our trucks are always fully stocked and ready to serve you "consistently" 24 hours a day. I'm sure if you shopped around some more you could have gotten the job done for $100 by someone who does plumbing as a "hobby" and not a professional company. We sit down and examine our prices every 3 months to ensure they are fair and accurate for the consistent value our customers demand. I'm sure you will see the value of hiring and paying a professional one day, if you either can't get a hold of your "guy" when you need him or he doesn't honor the workmanship. As for the $50, it did not even cover our technicians wage and the gas. It's not like it went straight into his pocket as profit. But the $140.oo went straight into your"guys" pocket because he does not have the overhead it takes to run a real business. Best of luck in the future. We are here when you need us in the future 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
