We recently bought a house and this was our very first time to hire an interior designer. We are very pleased with the experience. Nanette came in person for 2.5 hour initial consultation. We initially wanted just an opinion about the selection of windows (colour, type of grills, etc.), but Nanette provided much more, including ideas for the exterior walls, the porch, the colour selection for the front door, and some great ideas about the kitchen and bathroom and storage. She was also able to confirm some of the ideas we had about the layout, including the removal of a wall between the kitchen and the dining room and opening up a door from the dining room to the backyard. We were very impressed with Nanette's knowledge, creativity, and she does it all with a big smile. Another great thing we liked is that Nanette explained that as an option she also has a great group of contractors that can put her ideas into the final product. We also liked the Nanette's approach that focuses on finding great solutions, but with an eye to the economic aspect of it too. We would strongly recommend Nanette to our friends, and think that the initial consultation is particularly helpful before starting a major renovation to avoid mistakes, get ideas, and even just confirm your own plans. Lastly, Nanette was also great in following up with us, and getting us in touch with contractors. All in all, great service!

We have used Nanette's services 3 or 4 times over the years. And we are always satisfied with her recommendations and ideas. We called on Nanette again after we had a flood in our basement.
As an aside, Nanette's contractor Masoud of Atlas Build did a fabulous job on remodeling it. He created a new bathroom and laundry room.
He was finished on time and within budget. We can highly recommend Masoud and his crew, as well.
Nanette also assisted us with a house renovation in Nova Scotia, by giving us great advice by means of website links and photos. We are very pleased with the end result - as always ! And she hasn't even been to Nova Scotia!

I asked Nanette to come over for a 2 hour consultation on my daughter's bedroom and our living room - two rooms that I felt like I had taken as far as I could. They weren't "quite right" and I needed an outside opinion to help me identify what needed to change. Nanette was so helpful! Her feedback was specific, realistic and sequenced in order of priority / impact and she touched on everything from furniture arrangement, accessories / decor to colour scheme and paint colours. I came out of the consultation with a very clear to do list! I have since been putting Nanette's recommendations into place and have been really happy with the results. She was professional, easy to talk to and quickly understood our lifestyle and parameters.

I had always thought an interior designer was only for major projects but Nanette showed me the value of having a consultation before you spend money / time on any project - no matter how big, small or what the budget.

I will definitely consult with Nanette next time we have a decorating challenge.

Nanette has created beautiful spaces for me for close to twenty-one years. She is still my go to person when choosing paint colours, fabric, and furniture. She sourced my beautiful dining room furniture fifteen years ago and I still receive so many compliments on it. I feel that Nanette captured my personality and taste in all her design work and that my home is a true reflection of me. Nanette's pragmatism, decorative flair, insight into human nature, and love of her job make her a pleasure to work with and you will find that you not only have a fabulous decorator....you have made a friend."

I bought my first house in May and wanted the interior to be harmonious from paint colours, wallpapers to drapes and furniture, etc. I chose Nanette on Homestars because of her rating and she didn't disappoint. I am VERY PLEASED with the result! I wanted my place to be traditional yet stylist and Nanette delivered!!! Her trade people were great!! Melena Gibner was wonderful. She painted my whole house, put up wallpaper in my bedroom and redesign the fireplace. Things I thought could not be done, she did it (and on time too)! Barry, the electrician who works with Melena is great too! The only exception is Doug Reid, who put up the drapes for me. For $200, he put up front window and back door drapes. The back door drapes felt a few weeks after. He came back to fix it but it still didn't work because of bad initial installation. Nanette promptly contacted him for me but his his answer was there was nothing he can do and he was out of town without giving anytime frame when he was going to be back. Needless to say I was disappointed and had to fixed the drapes myself (he never contacted me again to fix it). I don't think how Doug carries his business is Nanette's fault. She was professional and helpful the whole time. I just wanted other consumers like me to be aware for your future references. I would definitely appreciate other consumers' helpful reviews also. I would totally recommend Nanette (already did to a few friends). You won't be disappointed with her professionalism, punctuality, and the eyes to pick out wonderful choices for your beautiful home!!!
