New House Construction

We got to move into the house on time. The staff were really friendly. They sent us a gift basket when we moved in. They checked up on us after we moved in. the materials and construction was of good quality. The designs of the homes they offered us were lovely. We really are enjoying our new Monarch built home.

Zip Condos and Lofts

My unit had several deficiencies. The builder did fix many of the ones that were picked out during the PDI. However, anything that came up afterwards were blamed on me...they claimed it wasn't there during the PDI and thus I was negligent and the warranty didn't cover it. They ruined their reputation in my eyes just to save a few hundred dollars. With the state of the economy, sad to see them skim and lose future customers.

New Home

Purchased a Monarch home for $ 600000 and though we will be OK in the long term
-When I decided to do up the basement I was told that there are too many structure poles -thus one will be walking into poles all the time. The cost of moving these poles are costing me more than $15000.This is only for 4 poles.I was told by the engineer if the builder wanted to do this in a beter way they could have, because they were just cutting on costs doing it way they did.

Therefore when purchasing a home from Monarch or any other company get a plan of the basement and the location of the poles. This could make you basement plans for the future easy or a headache.Sit down with the builder and tell them where you want the poles, less poles are better and maybe spend the extra $5000 in the beginning when building your home so you can avoid these issues later.

New Home Purchase from Monarch

We moved into our new Monarch built home in November and have had nothing but problems since our initial PDI one week prior to moving in. Not 1 major issue was addressed from our PDI before we moved in, which meant we would have to work around their schedule to come in and repair what needed repair. Communication with what they call our "Personal Care Consultant" is abysmal at best. Same goes for the "Service Manager". Their own trades people know the problems we face in dealing with them, yet there seems to be nothing we can do about it. Survey after survey come to our house asking "How are we doing?" yet no response has come as of yet after telling them about our dissatisfaction.
When someone does come to repair or replace something, they have yet to do it correctly and must come back again. We've been told that Mattamy has so many larger projects on the go, that they have taken all the good trades people, and Monarch is left with second grade workers, and it shows! In the beginning we were excited that there was a Design Studio where we could go and pick out all of our upgrades and see the products they would put in our home, but that ended up being more like a gouge'n'greet, than anything else. For instance, we upgraded our kitchen tiles and we assumed they would put an appropriate grout to match the tile, well they work it so you have to upgrade your grout! Overall, the service and finished product we've seen thus far from a company of this magnitude is disgusting!!

Monarch - New Home Construction in Burlington

When we decided it was time to move out of our townhouse we thought a move to a Monarch home would probably be our last. After all they have a great reputation and they seem to pay attention to the details. Unfortunately this was not the case at all with our home. Communication during the building of our home was good. Once we took possesion, it became non-existent and the company doesn't even care. They have your money and they'll get to you whenever they are good and ready. After numerous phone calls and e-mails to managers & supervisors our concerns still have yet to be addressed. Items on our PDI and 30 day list are still not completed 6 months later. We have had to take numerous days off to get these problems fixed. Many trades people would come to fix the problem but end up doing it incorrectly resulting in yet another appointment having to be made at a later date. The location & layout of the home is fabulous but the interior details are sloppy and poorly constructed. In 6 months of us living there, we've had to have a sliding glass door replaced, a window replaced, nails pulled out of our hardwood staircase, areas of our hardwood replaced and the list goes on. We paid a lot of money to upgrade features in our home and to see them destroyed by trades people is heartbreaking.
This seems to be the norm within the subdivision. Many neighbors are not happy. I would not recommend buying a Monarch home unless you're looking for an expensive brand new fixer-upper.

New home purchase

Although we didnt like the decor we were ultimately pleased with everything else including the service and the resulting quality of the hosue. The price was definitely within our range and we felt that we got a great deal over all so we would consider recommending them to anyone else for future reference
