Our salt generator stopped working. The expensive components are still under warranty and the less expensive components are not. Their staff could not troubleshoot the problem so it is not known if the problem is with the components under the warranty or the components not under warranty. They came to the rescue with a perfect solution.

Our salt generator stopped working. The expensive components are still under warranty and the less expensive components are not. Their staff could not troubleshoot the problem so it is not known if the problem is with the components under the warranty or the components not under warranty. It was mutually agreed to replace it all at an all in cost to myself of $250+HST. A great deal I thought as it was a gamble as to what the problem was. International said they would take care of the warranty part on my behalf. Sounds good right? Well ... they cannot source the parts from the manufacturer and have stopped dealing with the manufacturer due to so many reported problems by customers. I googled the manufacturer myself (CompuPool) and sure enough lots and lots of complaints. In the end, they found all new replacement parts inhouse. Again, sounds good right? Well one of the key components is running too hot and randomly shuts off (perhaps from overheating?). Comes back on after a while (perhaps when it cools down?) and the cycle repeats. I called to advise that this new in the box component is not working. I was told with no uncertainty that I am on my own now and I can deal with the manufacturer directly. NICE. Tends of thousands of dollars in less than three years and product still under warranty and hung out to dry. Just beware. Our opening that they did (not cheap either) was a disaster. Plugs left in the eye jets and sucked into the pump ... debris on top of the cover dumped into the pool for us to clean ourselves. System leaking and they came to repair it and advised the leak was DOWNHILL from where the leak was ... I asked how water can run uphill? Hopefully you have a better experience with them if you go with them .... as for us, we are now forced to replace a system that is 70% under warranty with a full priced unit from a competitor ... International did not even offer to sell us a new unit at a reduced price or split the difference or any other reasonable and fair outcome.
