I had ice dams on part of my roof which resulted in water damage to the ceiling of my dining room.
I'm a retired Construction Supervisor, who moved here from Alberta. Having had to make a number of repairs to a poorly built house, I was stunned at the lack of knowledge, lack of workmanship, and the indifferent attitude of most of the trades around Hamilton. No wonder Mike Holmes makes so much money here.
The insulation companies who quoted, couldn't even be bothered to look into the attic.
Luckily I contacted Insta Insulation. The company President, who should have been relaxing in his office, climbed into the attic with me, on a blazing hot day to figure out what was wrong. We decided to cover the dining room attic area with foam, and then insulate the whole attic to about R65.
The next week, Scotty and his crew performed the work. They were great! They went beyond the call of duty, installed more insulation stops, cleaned up after themselves and were polite and knowledgeable.
It's been nearly 4 years since they did the work. Not one icecle, no further problems.
This is one company I'd stand guard for in the prison shower!!
