Well, first of all Ikea is the most affordable furniture with interesting design (some of them).
It's good for people that dont care about the materials they use because, what i've heard and seen, most of the furniture dont last long.
I personally have experienced that to furniture i bought there. For about 6 months, the corners have chipped. I dont know about their kitchen.
But, to be honest, most of their kitchen utensils are great and great price. All their decoration stuff are great too.
