Didn't cancel when they promised, now on the hook for extra charges
I had some weed problems with my lawn but was hesitant to use any lawn care service as it was costly compared to if I was to do it myself. With a particularly busy summer ahead of me however, I started to research some lawn care companies to take on the task. By coincidence Hometurf called me (random calling to recruit customers) and I signed up under one condition; that they would only sign me up for one year. I made myself extremely clear that I did not want to renew the service next year. This was spring/summer/fall of 2018. Fast forward to today, April 4th 2019, I come home from work to find a fertilizer on my lawn with a sign Hometurf sign stuck in my grass.
I called them to inquire about the service and the only explanation I received was that nobody from Hometurf had noted on my file that the subscription was for one year only. The representative on the phone asked her supervisor if the bill could be waived but the supervisor said I was on the hook for the service because I didn't call in the cancel. No exceptions even if it was their own fault.
The amount I'm being charged isn't a lot but that's not the point of this review. The point of this review is to warn people that this company isn't trustworthy. I am truly disappointed and I will do my best to warn others of their deceitful tacticts.
